To disable Apple Intelligence Report on managed Macs, create a macOS Settings Catalog policy in Intune, select Declarative Device Management (DDM) > Intelligence Settings > Allow Apple Intelligence Report, configure it to disallow reports, and assign the policy to the target device group. This setting controls the report—not Apple Intelligence as a whole.
Where is Allow Apple Intelligence Report in the Intune Settings Catalog?
Microsoft exposes the control in the macOS Settings Catalog. Create and assign a policy using the following path:
- In the Intune admin center, go to Devices > Manage devices > Configuration > Create > New policy.
- Choose macOS as the platform and Settings catalog as the profile type.
- In the settings picker, open Declarative Device Management (DDM) > Intelligence Settings and select Allow Apple Intelligence Report.
- Configure the setting to prevent Apple Intelligence reports.
- Assign the policy to the intended managed Mac device group. If your rollout process calls for it, begin with a pilot group.
- Check the policy’s status in Intune and verify the setting on a representative managed Mac.
Microsoft documents the macOS Settings Catalog and this setting in its Microsoft macOS Settings Catalog update documentation. Apple describes the corresponding restriction as preventing Apple Intelligence reports in its device-management restrictions reference.

What does the policy disable?
It prevents Apple Intelligence reports, which concern requests sent to Private Cloud Compute. It is not a master switch for Apple Intelligence features. Apple and Microsoft list separate controls for capabilities such as Writing Tools, Genmoji, Image Playground, and app-specific behavior in Mail, Notes, and Safari, as well as external intelligence integrations.

If your requirement is to restrict those capabilities too, configure the relevant separate controls in Intune. Do not assume that disallowing the report also blocks feature use.
Which macOS and management requirements matter?
Older restriction support
Apple’s restrictions reference lists the Apple Intelligence reports restriction as available starting with macOS 15.4 and indicates that supervision is required. Treat that as the minimum stated for the restriction entry; confirm that the current Intune catalog setting applies to your macOS version and enrollment configuration before broad deployment.

Declarative management on current systems
Apple’s WWDC26 device-management update says MDM restrictions-payload keys for Apple Intelligence, Siri, and keyboard settings were deprecated in macOS 26.4 and related platform releases. Apple describes declarative configuration, including com.apple.configuration.intelligence.settings, for Apple Intelligence capability and app-specific controls. For supported current operating systems, use the declarative settings exposed in Intune rather than relying on an older restrictions-payload approach. See Apple’s WWDC26 device-management update and Microsoft’s Intune update notes.

External intelligence is a separate policy area
External intelligence controls govern integrations beyond the Apple Intelligence Report setting. Apple’s guide lists a minimum of macOS 26.4 for those controls, requires supervision, and supports Automated Device Enrollment. In Intune, the related catalog options include Allow Sign In and Allowed Workspace IDs. These are not substitutes for the report control. See Apple’s external intelligence configuration guide.

How should you verify deployment?
- Confirm the policy is assigned to the intended device group and review its status in Intune.
- Check the macOS version and management eligibility of a representative Mac, including supervision where required by Apple’s restriction documentation.
- Validate that the report is prevented on the device. A successful Intune assignment alone does not establish that every device in a mixed fleet supports the setting.
- For restrictions beyond reporting, verify each separate feature or integration control independently.
Apple’s deployment documentation covers platform management behavior; Microsoft’s Intune catalog update notes identify the catalog setting. Catalog labels and platform support can change, so check the live tenant and Apple’s current documentation before rollout.
