You can delete eligible Siri and Dictation history on a Mac, and delete Siri history associated with a HomePod using the Home app. Apple’s cited instructions do not establish a deletion-specific path for iPhone or iPad, so don’t use the Mac or HomePod steps on those devices. Deleting history is also separate from turning off Improve Siri & Dictation, which controls optional future sharing.
Delete Siri and Dictation history on a Mac
Apple’s Mac instructions require an internet connection. The deletion control removes audio recordings and transcripts associated with a random identifier that are less than six months old; it should not be read as deleting every record or all history regardless of age.
- Connect your Mac to the internet.
- Open System Settings and select Apple Intelligence & Siri or Siri in the sidebar.
- Select Delete Siri & Dictation History, then select Delete to confirm.
Apple’s Mac instructions say this deletion does not change your audio-sharing choice.
Delete Siri history associated with a HomePod
Apple documents this procedure for HomePod software version 27 or later. It deletes the Siri interactions currently associated with that HomePod.

- This phone is unlocked and compatible with any carrier of choice on GSM and CDMA networks (e.g. AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, Verizon, US Cellular, Cricket, Metro, Tracfone, Mint Mobile, etc.).
- Please check with your carrier to verify compatibility.
- The device does not come with headphones or a SIM card. It does include a generic (Mfi certified) charging cable.
- Tested for battery health and guaranteed to have a minimum battery capacity of 80%.
- On an iPhone or iPad, open the Home app.
- Tap the HomePod and open its settings.
- Choose Siri History, then tap Delete Siri History.
These steps manage history associated with the HomePod; they are not a general iPhone or iPad deletion procedure. See Apple’s HomePod Siri History instructions.
iPhone and iPad deletion steps are not established here
Apple’s cited iPhone and iPad guidance describes how to turn Improve Siri & Dictation on or off, but does not establish a deletion-specific path. Don’t assume the Mac menu or HomePod’s Siri History control applies to Siri history on an iPhone or iPad. Check Apple’s current guidance for your device and software version before following deletion steps.

Turn off optional future sharing separately
If your aim is to stop participating in Improve Siri & Dictation, change that setting separately; deleting eligible history does not turn it off. Apple gives these paths:
- iPhone or iPad: Settings > Privacy & Security > Analytics & Improvements.
- Mac: System Settings > Privacy & Security > Analytics & Improvements.
Apple also documents controls for Apple Watch, HomePod, Apple TV, and Apple Vision Pro. The exact options can vary by device, software, language, and region. See Apple’s Improve Siri & Dictation instructions.

Apple says that when Improve Siri & Dictation is enabled, it may store and review samples containing audio recordings, transcripts, and related request data. Apple says these samples are associated with a random device-generated identifier rather than an Apple Account or email address; Apple employees review audio recordings, while graders may review a subset of non-audio samples. Apple also says request history is not used to build a marketing profile and is never sold. These are Apple’s descriptions of its practices.

Dictation processing depends on the kind of input. Apple says Keyboard settings can show whether voice inputs and transcripts for general text Dictation are processed on-device rather than sent to Siri servers. Apple distinguishes this from dictation in a search box, so don’t assume every Dictation input is handled the same way. See Apple’s Dictation privacy information.
