To delete search history on a Samsung Galaxy, first identify where it was saved: Samsung Internet, Chrome, or your Google Account. For Samsung Internet, open the browser and go to More options (three dots) > Settings > Personal browsing data > Delete browsing data, select Browsing history, then tap Delete data > Delete to confirm. These controls are separate, so clearing one does not automatically clear the others.
Which search history do you want to delete?
“Search history” can mean pages saved by a browser or searches and other activity saved to your Google Account. Use the control for the app or account that holds the records:
- Samsung Internet: clear browsing history in Samsung Browser’s settings.
- Chrome: clear browsing data inside Chrome.
- Google Account: manage Web & App Activity in your Google Account settings.
Deleting history in one place does not remove records from the other places.
Clear Samsung Internet history
- Open Samsung Browser, also commonly called Samsung Internet.
- Tap More options (three vertical dots).
- Tap Settings > Personal browsing data > Delete browsing data.
- Select Browsing history. Select other categories only if you also want to remove them.
- Tap Delete data, then tap Delete to confirm.
Samsung lists cookies and site data, cached images and files, passwords, and autofill data as separate selectable categories. Removing cookies and site data can sign you out of some websites; clearing passwords or autofill data may also remove saved convenience data. Menu wording can vary with software version and locale. Delete an individual history entry
Samsung’s Japan support guidance describes removing selected entries from the History screen and also clearing all history. Its menu instructions are regional and may not match every Galaxy version. The same page treats video playback history separately, so do not assume clearing ordinary page history also removes video playback records: Samsung Japan: Delete Samsung Internet browsing history.
Clear Chrome browsing history
Chrome has its own browsing-data controls; Samsung Internet’s menu does not clear Chrome records. Open Chrome, tap More options, then choose Clear browsing data. Samsung’s guidance describes a time-range selector, with examples including Last 15 minutes and Last 24 hours. Review the selected range and data types before confirming so you remove only what you intend: Samsung support: Clear browsing data in Chrome.

Delete Google search activity from your account
Google Web & App Activity is an account-level control, separate from local browser history. On a Galaxy, Samsung documents this path: Settings > Google > Manage your Google Account > Data & privacy > Web & App Activity. From there, review the activity controls and available deletion options. Samsung’s guide also describes auto-delete choices for activity older than 3, 18, or 36 months; available options may change over time, so check the settings shown on your device: Samsung UK: Manage your Google Account on a Galaxy device.

Samsung says Secret mode in Samsung Browser does not save browsing history, cookies, or search records on the device. It does not erase older records, and it is not an anonymity tool: Samsung notes that activity may still be visible to websites, your internet service provider, apps, and the phone manufacturer. Use it to limit certain records saved locally, not to remove activity already stored elsewhere: Samsung: Use Secret mode in Samsung Internet.

Before you confirm deletion
- Check that you are in the right app or account: Samsung Internet, Chrome, or Google Account.
- In Samsung Internet, select only the data categories you intend to remove. Browsing history can be cleared without selecting cookies, cache, passwords, or autofill data.
- Expect to sign in to some sites again if you remove cookies and site data.
- If a menu label differs, it may reflect a software version or locale difference; use the matching browser or account settings rather than assuming one app’s deletion controls cover another.
