How to remove a program from YouTube TV
- Open YouTube TV and go to your Library.
- Find the show, sports team, movie, league, or event you want to stop recording.
- Select Remove next to it.
Google’s help instructions say to find the saved program and select Remove. An item that is not saved shows Add; an item already in the Library shows Remove.
What happens after you select Remove?
Remove applies to the program, not to one recording file. YouTube TV stops recording all current and upcoming airings associated with that saved program. It does not selectively remove one episode, broadcast, or sporting event while keeping the rest of the program in the Library.

Why is the recording still in my Library?
This is normally expected. Removing a program prevents additional recordings; it does not immediately erase recordings YouTube TV has already captured. Google says recorded programs remain available until they expire, so an item can still appear in the Library after you choose Remove.

The current official help documentation does not promise one universal retention period. Nine months is commonly reported in Google TV Help Community answers, but is not stated as a fixed guarantee on Google’s current recording help page. Treat the exact expiration date as service behavior that you cannot control with a deletion setting.
Can you delete just one episode?
Individual-episode deletion is not documented as a current YouTube TV feature. YouTube TV does not currently offer the same per-recording deletion control found in some traditional DVRs.

The available workaround is to remove the entire program. That stops future recordings for the series, but it also removes the program-level recording preference and does not instantly erase episodes already recorded.
There is no need to delete recordings to free DVR space
YouTube TV says its DVR has no storage-space limit. You can add as many programs as you want, so removing a program is not necessary to make room for new recordings. Use Remove when you no longer want YouTube TV to track and record that program—not as a storage-management task.

What if the program gets recorded again?
If you remove a program but later add it again, future airings can be recorded again. Community guidance also notes that rebroadcasts can lead to a program being recorded again in some circumstances. If an old item remains visible, check whether it is an existing recording awaiting expiration or a newer rebroadcast captured after the program was saved again.
NFL RedZone works differently from individual games
NFL RedZone is a special case. Adding an individual NFL team, league, or game does not record the full NFL RedZone block. To record NFL RedZone, add NFL RedZone itself to the Library. To stop that recording preference, remove NFL RedZone as its own program.

What to do about a defective recording
If a recording has a playback, audio, video, or scheduling problem, YouTube TV provides a reporting option inside the video player. Open the recording, use the player’s reporting path, and submit the problem. This is the supported route for reporting a bad recording; it is separate from removing the program from the Library.
Common mistakes
- Looking for “Delete recording”: Google’s current official instructions use Remove, not Delete recording, for Library cleanup.
- Expecting immediate disappearance: Existing recordings can stay visible until they expire.
- Removing a team to stop one game: Removing the team affects its saved recording preference, not just one airing.
- Trying to clear DVR capacity: YouTube TV does not impose a storage-space limit.
- Searching for a command-line solution: YouTube TV documents an in-product Remove action, not a command-line command or supported API syntax for deleting recordings.

How do I delete a recording from YouTube TV?
Open YouTube TV, go to the Library, find the saved show, sports team, movie, league, or event, and select Remove. This removes the program from future recording, but does not immediately erase existing recordings.

Why can I still see a recording after removing it?
Remove stops current and upcoming airings from being recorded. Recordings that already exist can remain available until they expire.
Can I delete one episode without removing the whole show?

Does YouTube TV have a DVR storage limit?
