To delete every saved password in Microsoft Edge, open Settings > Privacy, search, and services > Clear browsing data > Choose what to clear. Set Time range to All time, select Passwords, then choose Clear now. If you want the deletion limited to this device, turn sync off before clearing.

Delete all saved passwords in Edge

  1. Open Microsoft Edge and select Settings and more (the three-dot menu), then select Settings.
  2. Select Privacy, search, and services.
  3. Under Clear browsing data, select Choose what to clear.
  4. Set Time range to All time.
  5. Select Passwords. Leave other data categories unselected if you want to preserve them.
  6. Select Clear now.

Microsoft’s Edge browsing-data instructions list passwords as a category you can clear. Selecting that category separately lets you delete passwords without intentionally clearing history, cookies, or form data.

Choose whether to clear passwords on this device or synced devices

Decide the scope before clearing. With sync enabled, clearing synced password data can remove it from other Edge devices signed in to sync. To clear passwords only from the current device, turn sync off first, as Microsoft’s clearing instructions advise. Microsoft explains that passwords are one of the data types users can include in Edge sync in its guide to changing sync settings; its sync sign-in guidance also warns that clearing while signed in and syncing affects synced devices.

For a current-device-only deletion, turn sync off before following the steps above. To clear synced passwords across devices, leave sync enabled and clear the Passwords category. Microsoft also provides a privacy dashboard for browsing data stored in the Microsoft cloud; deleting data there does not delete it from the device. That cloud data is managed separately from the local Edge clearing flow.

Turning off password saving does not delete existing passwords

Edge has separate controls for offering to save passwords and autofilling them. Turning either feature off changes future saving or use; it does not clear passwords already stored in the browser. To remove existing passwords, use the Passwords category in Clear browsing data. Microsoft documents these as distinct controls in Your Microsoft account, your data, your choices.

What to expect

  • Time range: All time applies the clearing action to the full available range.
  • Other browsing data: Only selected categories are cleared, so keep other boxes unchecked if you do not want to remove them.
  • Sync: The sync setting determines whether synced password data may also be removed from other Edge devices.

The verified menu path above is Microsoft’s desktop guidance. Exact labels and steps may differ in Edge for Android or iOS.
