There is no single “Pokémon game account” deletion switch. Delete the account or save data you actually mean—Pokémon Trainer Central, Pokémon GO, or Pokémon TCG Pocket—and remove saved payment details separately from the store that billed you. Deleting a Pokémon login does not automatically delete a Nintendo, Apple or Google payment method, and deleting save data does not necessarily cancel a subscription.
Use the decision guide below before confirming anything. Trainer Central deletion is permanent, Pokémon GO deletion is a separate request that may take several weeks, and TCG Pocket’s delete-save-data control permanently removes that game’s progress and items.

How do I delete a Pokémon Trainer Central account?
Use the Trainer Central privacy page, not a Nintendo, Apple or Google account setting. The deletion request removes the Trainer Central account and its connected-service access; it is not reversible.
- Open the Pokémon Trainer Central privacy page and sign in.
- Select Delete Account.
- Check the email address associated with the account. Pokémon sends a confirmation message there.
- Open the message and select Delete Account.
- Wait for the confirmation page stating that the account was successfully deleted.
Pokémon Support warns that “when you request deletion of a Pokémon Trainer Central account, Pokémon will not be able to reactivate the account.” Treat the second click in the email as a final decision, not as a temporary deactivation.
What Trainer Central deletion removes
Deletion removes your previous Trainer Central account details and prevents continued use of that account for Play! Pokémon and connected features. Pokémon specifically warns that a Pokémon TCG Live card collection is lost with the Trainer Central account. Any child account added under the account is deleted as well and cannot be reactivated.
Deleting Trainer Central does not itself remove a Nintendo Account, an Apple Account, a Google Account, or a payment card saved on one of those platforms. Handle those separately.
What should I do with a linked Nintendo Account first?
Unlink the Nintendo Account before deleting Trainer Central if you might want to connect that Nintendo Account to a new Trainer Central account. Pokémon’s guidance says deletion does not automatically unlink Nintendo. If the Nintendo Account remains linked when Trainer Central is deleted, it cannot be linked to a new Trainer Central account afterward; unlinking first preserves the possibility of reuse.
Open your Trainer Central linked-account settings, remove the Nintendo link, and verify that it is gone before starting the deletion request. If you no longer need the Nintendo Account, this step is optional, but it cannot be performed retroactively to restore a deleted Trainer Central account.

How do I permanently delete a Pokémon GO account?
Pokémon GO has its own deletion route. Deleting Trainer Central alone is not the same request, particularly if Pokémon GO was signed in with Apple, Google or another login method.
- Sign in to the Pokémon GO account you want removed.
- Open the app’s Settings and start the account-deletion request.
- Follow the verification prompts and submit the request.
- If the in-app control is unavailable, open the official Pokémon GO support form and choose Delete My Account.
- Provide the correct player name and access to the associated email address so support can verify the request.
- Complete the confirmation step when Pokémon GO sends it.
Verified requests may take several weeks. Once deletion is confirmed, Pokémon GO says the action cannot be undone, so check the player name and login before submitting.
Can Pokémon GO data be recovered after Trainer Central deletion?
Possibly, but only in a limited situation. If Trainer Central was deleted while Pokémon GO still has another login method, such as Apple or Google, Pokémon Support says you may be able to seek help from Scopely Explore. That is a conditional support path, not a guarantee that the game data will be restored, and it does not reverse a confirmed Trainer Central deletion.
How do I delete Pokémon TCG Pocket save data?
TCG Pocket’s control deletes the game’s local account record rather than your entire Nintendo, Apple, Google or Trainer Central identity. It permanently removes your progress, owned items and Poké Gold.
- From the title screen, open Menu > Account > Delete Save Data.
- If you are already in the game, open Menu > Other > Account > Delete Save Data.
- Read the warning and confirm only if you accept permanent loss of the save record, items and Poké Gold.
Pokémon says deleted TCG Pocket save data cannot be restored. Deleting it also does not automatically cancel a premium-pass subscription. Cancel the pass through the store where you bought it, then remove any saved payment method there if desired.
How do I remove a saved card from Nintendo?
If Nintendo eShop billed the Pokémon purchase, remove the card from Nintendo’s payment settings. Pokémon account deletion will not remove it.

On Nintendo Switch or Switch 2
- Open Nintendo eShop from the HOME Menu.
- Select the Nintendo Account that contains the saved card.
- Select the profile icon in the upper-right corner to open Account Information.
- Under Credit Card Information, select Delete next to the card.
- Select Delete again to confirm.
On the Nintendo Account website
- Sign in to the Nintendo Account Account Home website.
- Open Funds and Payment Methods.
- Under Credit Card, choose Manage payment methods.
- Select Delete beside the saved card.
- Confirm the deletion.
Nintendo states that deleting stored credit-card information in one location also deletes it from the other. The console should show Not saved when no card remains; the website reports that no saved credit-card information is available.
What about PayPal on Nintendo?
PayPal is listed separately from a saved card. Nintendo account settings can show a partially masked PayPal email and provide an option to unlink the PayPal account. Automatic renewals and pre-orders use separate payment settings, so deleting a card or unlinking PayPal does not by itself cancel those commitments.
How do I remove a Pokémon payment method from Apple?
For a purchase billed through Apple, use the Apple Account that owns the App Store transaction. Pokémon settings cannot remove an Apple payment method.
- On an iPhone, iPad or Apple Vision Pro, open Settings.
- Tap [your name] > Payment & Shipping.
- Tap Edit.
- Tap the delete control beside the payment method, then choose Remove.
You can also sign in at account.apple.com and manage payment methods there. Apple may block removal of the last method while an iCloud+ or other subscription is active, while you are an organizer using purchase sharing, or while an unpaid balance exists. Cancel or change the subscription, turn off purchase sharing, or settle the balance before trying again.
How do I remove a Pokémon payment method from Google?
For Google Play billing, open the Google Account’s Payment Methods area. Google stores payment information used for Google services and Google Play on the Google Account, so view, edit or remove it there rather than in Pokémon GO or another Pokémon game.
- Sign in to the Google Account used for the purchase.
- Open Payment Methods.
- Select the card or other method you want to remove.
- Choose Remove and follow the confirmation prompt.
If several Google Accounts are signed in on the device, check the receipt or subscription screen to identify the account that was actually charged. Removing a method from one Google Account does not remove it from another.

Does deleting a Pokémon account cancel subscriptions and renewals?
No. Account deletion, save-data deletion and payment-method removal are separate actions. A premium pass, Nintendo automatic renewal, Apple subscription or Google Play subscription can remain active even after the game account or save file is gone.

Use this cancellation checklist:
- Nintendo: review automatic renewals and pre-orders in Nintendo Account payment settings.
- Apple: open your Apple subscription list and cancel any Pokémon-related subscription before the next renewal date.
- Google: open Google Play subscriptions and cancel the relevant pass or recurring purchase.
- TCG Pocket: cancel the premium pass through the store where it was purchased; deleting save data is not enough.
Keep the cancellation confirmation or receipt. Removing the card afterward reduces future use of that method but is not a substitute for cancellation.
What should I check before confirming deletion?
A short pre-deletion check prevents the most expensive mistakes.
- Identify the scope: decide whether you need to remove Trainer Central, Pokémon GO, TCG Pocket save data, or only a payment method.
- Save anything you are entitled to keep: Trainer Central deletion can remove access to Play! Pokémon features and a TCG Live collection; TCG Pocket deletion removes owned items and Poké Gold.
- Unlink Nintendo first: do this before Trainer Central deletion if you may reuse the Nintendo Account.
- Record the correct GO identity: Pokémon GO support requires the correct player name and associated email for verification.
- Review children’s profiles: a child account attached to Trainer Central is deleted with the parent account.
- Audit subscriptions: cancel recurring passes or renewals independently of account deletion.
- Remove payment methods last: once billing is canceled, delete the card or unlink PayPal from the platform that stored it.
What if the deletion or payment-removal option is missing?
Use the branch that matches the problem rather than repeating the same request.
The Trainer Central email did not arrive
Confirm that you signed in to the intended account and check spam, junk and filtered-mail folders. The deletion is not complete until you open the message sent to the associated address and finish the confirmation.
Pokémon GO cannot verify my request
Use the player name belonging to the account you want deleted and an email address you can access. If the in-app route is unavailable, submit the official support form and select Delete My Account; an unverified request cannot be treated as a completed deletion.

Apple will not remove my only card
Check for an active subscription, purchase sharing as the family organizer, or an unpaid balance. Apple requires those conditions to be resolved before the last payment method can be removed.
Nintendo still shows a payment method
Check both the console eShop and Nintendo Account website using the same Nintendo Account. Nintendo’s documented behavior is that deleting the stored card in one location removes it from the other; a “Not saved” or no-saved-card message confirms the result.
A subscription is still active after deleting save data
That is expected. Open the Nintendo, Apple or Google subscription controls used for the original purchase and cancel the recurring item separately.

Delete Trainer Central only when you want the central identity and its linked-service access permanently removed, and unlink Nintendo beforehand if reuse matters. Use Pokémon GO’s in-app or support deletion request for a GO account, and use TCG Pocket’s in-game control only for that game’s save data. For cards and PayPal, work in the billing platform, then separately cancel every subscription or automatic renewal.

Will deleting Trainer Central remove a card saved in Nintendo eShop?
No. The card belongs to the Nintendo Account payment system, not the Trainer Central profile. After removing it, Nintendo synchronizes the stored-card status between the eShop and the Nintendo Account website, so both locations should report that no card is saved.
Can I submit a Pokémon GO deletion request for someone else?
The request is tied to the player name and email associated with the account. Without access to the associated email or the correct player details, Pokémon GO support may not be able to verify ownership or process the request.
Why can’t I remove my only Apple payment method?
Apple can require a replacement method or other account action when an active subscription, purchase sharing, or an unpaid balance exists. Resolve that condition first; deleting the Pokémon game or its save data does not bypass Apple’s account rules.
