You can create a Tiny11 installation ISO from Microsoft’s Windows 11 media with NTDEV’s tiny11maker.ps1 script. Use the regular builder for an image you can continue to service with updates, languages, and features; reserve tiny11coremaker.ps1 for minimal test or development images. The scripts remove Windows components, but the project does not establish a universal speed or storage-size improvement.
Choose the right Tiny11 builder
The official NTDEV project offers two scripts with different trade-offs. For most people making an installation image, the regular builder is the appropriate choice.

These are differences in servicing and intended use, not evidence that one version is faster. The project does not publish a controlled benchmark or a generally applicable installed-size figure.
What the regular builder removes
NTDEV’s README lists these removals for the regular script: Clipchamp, News, Weather, Xbox, GetHelp, GetStarted, Office Hub, Solitaire, PeopleApp, PowerAutomate, ToDo, Alarms, Mail and Calendar, Feedback Hub, Maps, Sound Recorder, Your Phone, Media Player, QuickAssist, Internet Explorer, Tablet PC Math, Edge, and OneDrive. Review the current project README before building, particularly if you rely on any of these apps or components.

What you need before building
- A Windows 11 ISO downloaded from Microsoft’s Windows 11 download page.
- The current
tiny11maker.ps1from the official NTDEV tiny11builder repository. - PowerShell 5.1 running as Administrator, plus a drive for the mounted ISO and a separate working drive for scratch files.
- Enough time to review the script before running it. It runs with administrative privileges and modifies a Windows image. The script may download
autounattend.xmlfrom the project’s main branch if it is missing, and it may obtainoscdimg.exefrom Microsoft’s symbol download endpoint if it cannot find an ADK copy.
Mount the downloaded ISO in File Explorer before starting. A USB drive is not needed to build the ISO or use it in a virtual machine.
Create the Tiny11 ISO
- Review and prepare the builder. Download the current
tiny11maker.ps1from the NTDEV repository. Inspect the script and its external-download behavior before running it. In File Explorer, right-click the Windows 11 ISO and choose Mount; note the drive letter assigned to it. - Open an elevated PowerShell session. Start PowerShell 5.1 as Administrator. In that session, change to the folder containing the script. The project README instructs users to run
Set-ExecutionPolicy Bypass -Scope Process. TheProcessscope limits this policy change to the current PowerShell session. - Run the regular builder. Substitute the ISO’s mounted drive letter for
Eand the scratch working drive forDin this example:.tiny11maker.ps1 -ISO E -SCRATCH D. The script definesISOas the mounted image drive andSCRATCHas the working drive. If the input containsinstall.esd, the script exports the selected image to a WIM before processing. - Select the Windows image. When prompted, choose the image index or SKU you want to modify. Make sure the edition is one your license permits you to install.
- Wait for processing and locate the output. The builder mounts and modifies the image, then creates
tiny11.isoin the folder containing the script. - Test the ISO before relying on it. Boot it in a disposable virtual machine and check that the setup and the apps or features you need behave as expected before considering installation on your main computer.
Check known issues and hardware support
The project README reports several issues to account for: Edge may leave remnants in Settings even though the app is deleted; Winget may need updating before Microsoft Store app installation works; Outlook and Dev Home may reappear; and an ARM64 run may report an error because that image lacks OneDriveSetup.exe in System32. These are project-reported caveats, not independent test results.

The current regular script configures registry settings to bypass TPM and storage checks and allow upgrades with unsupported TPM or CPU. That setting does not make an unsupported device supported by Microsoft. Microsoft lists a supported processor, 4 GB RAM, 64 GB storage, DirectX 12 graphics with a WDDM 2.0 driver, and a suitable display among Windows 11’s minimum requirements. Microsoft Support says installation on a device below those requirements is not recommended, is unsupported, may cause compatibility issues, and is not guaranteed to receive updates, including security updates. Back up important files before installing. Microsoft warns that a clean installation removes personal files, apps, and settings. For a reinstall, choose the Windows edition that matches your existing digital license; activation requires a digital license or product key, and a different edition may require a valid key. For physical hardware, create bootable installation media separately. Microsoft’s media-creation process requires a blank USB flash drive with at least 8 GB capacity and deletes its contents. For a virtual machine, use the ISO directly instead; no USB is required. See Microsoft’s installation-media instructions.
