What Decoration Preset codes do
Decoration Presets let you save a selected section of your Valley so you can reuse the arrangement. Disney Dreamlight Valley’s official feature announcement describes Presets as working alongside Group Mode to save decorated sections for later removal, copying, or replacement. A preset code is the way to share a saved arrangement with another player. It does not guarantee that the recipient already owns every item used in the design.
How to create and share a preset
The reported workflow requires completing Merlin’s Developed Decorating quest before using Presets. Menu wording may not be identical on every platform; these labels are those reported in the current how-to.

- Open the Furniture menu and select Presets.
- Select Add new.
- Choose the items and decorated section you want to save, then save the preset.
- On a saved preset, choose Share preset to generate its code.
To share it with someone, send them the generated code. The code remains valid for 14 days, including if you edit or delete the preset after sharing it, according to the September 23, 2026 official update notes.
How to import someone else’s preset code
- Open Furniture, then Presets.
- Select Add new import preset.
- Choose Enter code.
- Type or paste the code and submit it in the game.
These menu labels are reported by the current how-to; the available information does not establish that every platform uses precisely the same wording.

Where to find preset codes
Codes are shared by players, rather than provided through an official code directory. The current how-to points readers to the Starlight Dreamers Portal’s presets page and the Disney Dreamlight Valley Reddit community. Look for recently posted codes: a listing older than 14 days may no longer work. If a code has expired, contact the original creator and ask them to share the preset again.

If you import a preset but do not have an item it uses, the official feature notes say it may appear as a Mirage placeholder. Interact with the placeholder to buy or craft the missing item and place it. The notes do not establish that every missing item will always be available to buy or craft.

If the Presets option or a code does not work
- Presets is unavailable: Complete Merlin’s Developed Decorating quest, then check the Furniture menu again.
- The code is rejected: Check for typing errors and whether the code is more than 14 days old. Because the validity period continues even if the creator edits or removes the preset, request a new share from the creator when needed.
- A menu label is missing: Check that the game is updated and inspect the in-game Furniture > Presets interface. Menu behavior across platforms is not established by the available sources.
- Some objects are placeholders: Interact with a Mirage placeholder to see whether the item can be bought or crafted in your game.
