Open a photo in the Photos app, touch and hold its main subject, then tap Add Sticker. The sticker is saved in the sticker menu for use from the keyboard, Markup, or Messages. To make it move, start with a Live Photo.
How do I make a sticker from a photo on iPhone?

Open Photos and open the picture you want to use.

Touch and hold the photo’s main subject until it lifts or is selected, then release.

How do you make a Live Sticker on iPhone?
Use a Live Photo as the source. Touch and hold its subject in Photos, then tap Add Sticker. A Live Photo can retain its motion in an animated sticker. After creating it, tap Add Effect if you want to adjust its style or turn the animation on or off.
What effects can you add to an iPhone sticker?
Effects are optional. Apple’s iOS 17 release notes name Shiny, Puffy, Comic, and Outline. Apple’s current Photos guide specifically documents Outline and Comic and notes that Live Photo animation can be switched on or off; the available controls may differ by software version.

Where can I use a sticker made from Photos?
Use it from the keyboard
Open the onscreen keyboard in an app and open its sticker menu to choose a saved sticker.
Add it in Markup
Open Markup tools and use the sticker menu to add a saved sticker to a photo.

Send or place it in Messages

Open a conversation and tap Add, then choose Stickers.

Select your Live Sticker or another sticker pack.

Send the sticker as a message, or drag it onto a message bubble. A sticker placed on a bubble can be angled or resized.

For the newer sticker-on-bubble updates, Apple requires both sender and recipient to use iOS 17.2, iPadOS 17.2, macOS 14.1, watchOS 10.2, visionOS 1, or later. This is a condition for those updates, not a requirement for creating every photo sticker. See Apple’s guide to stickers in Messages.

In Photos, open a picture and tap Edit.

Tap Markup, then Add and Add Sticker.

Touch and hold the sticker you want to remove, then tap Remove.

Do iPhone stickers sync to other Apple devices?
Apple says stickers sync with iCloud and are available on iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple Vision Pro devices signed in to the same Apple Account.
