To create a 24/7 Tibetan meditation music stream on YouTube, prepare a rights-cleared music program, verify your channel can livestream, then send a continuous audio-and-visual feed through an encoder such as OBS. YouTube does not offer a special “24/7” mode or promise an uninterrupted broadcast: plan to monitor the stream and respond if the encoder, connection, or YouTube interrupts it.

1. Make sure your channel is ready to go live

YouTube requires a verified channel and no live-streaming restrictions in the preceding 90 days. If this will be your first live stream, enable it at least 24 hours before the planned launch so you have time to finish setup. See YouTube’s live-stream setup instructions and YouTube for Artists’ going-live guidance.

  1. Sign in to the YouTube account for the channel you intend to use.
  2. Complete channel verification and confirm that YouTube allows the channel to livestream.
  3. Enable livestreaming at least 24 hours before your first broadcast.
  4. Open YouTube’s live-stream setup and choose an encoder workflow. YouTube identifies encoders as suitable for broadcasts that use production elements such as overlays.

2. Clear the music and visual rights before building the stream

Use music and visuals you created yourself, or obtain permission that explicitly covers continuous YouTube livestreaming. If you want the broadcast archived, confirm that the rights also cover the resulting recording. A license for ordinary playback or downloads should not be assumed to include either use.

If you use third-party music

YouTube scans all live streams for matches to third-party content. If it detects copyrighted material, it may display a placeholder and warn you; if the material remains, YouTube may interrupt or terminate the stream. A copyright or Community Guidelines strike can also end it. Read YouTube’s copyright guidance for live streams.

Ask the rights holder to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist, and keep written confirmation alongside the license and its terms. YouTube warns that a stream can still be interrupted even when you have a license if the channel is not allowlisted. YouTube for Artists also advises coordinating with a label or distributor when using protected music. These steps reduce risk; they do not guarantee that a claim or interruption will not occur.

Decide whether to keep an archive

If you choose to archive the live stream, YouTube says Content ID claims may be made after it ends. Check that your music and visual permissions cover the archived playback you plan to retain. If they do not, do not assume that turning off or deleting an archive after the broadcast will resolve a rights issue.

3. Assemble a continuous program

Choose the music in advance and arrange it as a continuous program. A static, rights-cleared image can accompany the audio; alternatively, prepare a visual loop you have permission to use. Check the full program for gaps, abrupt transitions, unexpected silence, or material you did not mean to include. Keep a copy of the final playlist and rights records available to whoever will monitor the broadcast.

Decide whether you want a single repeating recording or a longer program assembled from multiple tracks. In either case, the content must be suitable for continuous repetition, and your permissions must cover that use. A calm visual and consistent audio level can make a meditation stream easier to follow, but they do not change YouTube’s copyright checks or livestream requirements.

4. Send the program to YouTube with an encoder such as OBS

An encoder sends the assembled audio-and-visual feed to YouTube Live. OBS is one software-encoder option; it connects the computer directly to the streaming service. YouTube’s setup flow supplies the stream connection details, including the stream key. Treat that key as a password: do not publish it or share it with people who should not control the broadcast.

  1. Prepare the encoder computer. Use a computer dedicated to the broadcast if practical, connect it to a stable internet connection, and prevent routine restarts or sleep from stopping the encoder. A dedicated computer or mini PC can host an encoder, but no particular hardware specification or device guarantees continuous operation.
  2. Create the live stream in YouTube. Follow YouTube’s live-stream setup and select the encoder option. Copy the stream key into the encoder’s streaming configuration. Keep it private; if it is exposed, replace it in YouTube and update the encoder before going live again.
  3. Configure the program feed. In OBS, bring in the prepared visual and music program so the output contains both picture and sound. Confirm that the intended source is active and that the audio is present before sending the stream.
  4. Use YouTube’s current encoder settings. Match the resolution, frame rate, bitrate, and keyframe interval to the current settings and guidance shown for your stream in YouTube’s encoder setup. The sources cited here do not establish numeric recommendations for those settings, so do not copy arbitrary values from an unrelated preset. The bitrate must also be supportable by the connection for the whole broadcast.
  5. Start the encoder and verify the incoming feed. Check the YouTube live interface for the incoming picture, sound, and stream status before treating the broadcast as live. Confirm the stream title, description, visibility, and archive choice in YouTube before launch.
  6. Monitor the broadcast. Keep an operator able to check both YouTube’s stream status and the encoder. OBS describes dropped frames as a sign that the connection may be unstable or unable to keep up with the configured bitrate; if they appear, investigate network stability and the configured bitrate rather than assuming the broadcast is healthy.

YouTube documents RTMPS as RTMP carried over an SSL connection. Use the secure ingestion option available in the encoder setup when appropriate, but RTMPS protects the connection transport; it does not by itself prevent a network failure, copyright interruption, or other stream drop. See Google’s RTMPS ingestion documentation.

5. Plan for interruptions and recovery

A “24/7” stream is an operating goal, not a YouTube uptime mode. The encoder and internet connection have to keep sending the program, and YouTube can interrupt a stream for policy or copyright reasons. Neither YouTube’s setup guidance nor OBS’s documentation guarantees that a broadcast will run without a break.

  • Keep a person responsible for checking stream health and responding to alerts or a stopped encoder.
  • Have a way to restart the encoder and reconnect it to the correct YouTube stream if the connection drops.
  • After a restart, verify the incoming feed in YouTube instead of assuming the channel is live.
  • Keep the stream key private and make sure the person handling recovery can access the channel and encoder.
  • Review the music and visual rights again before restarting if a copyright warning or interruption occurred.

6. Choose between a local encoder and a cloud service

A local OBS setup gives you direct control over the production computer and its connection, but the computer and local internet connection must remain available. A hosted encoder moves the work off your home computer; compare its actual service terms and recovery behavior before relying on it. The reviewed platform and OBS materials do not establish a guaranteed-uptime design or a minimum host specification.

Cost and equipment considerations

A dedicated computer or mini PC is one possible way to host OBS, but buying one does not by itself make a stream dependable. The sources do not establish a required hardware configuration or a cost comparison for local and hosted setups. For a local stream, consider the computer, electricity, internet connection, and the time needed to monitor and recover it; confirm those costs for your own setup rather than assuming a fixed total.

Or let it run in the cloud

StreamNeo keeps an uploaded-video YouTube stream running from the cloud: upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. Your computer, OBS, and home connection do not have to stay on. It loops uploaded videos and playlists, and automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream.
