The result stays in the same gear slot as the input. You cannot use a Mythic Unique as the input. Blizzard also renamed the recipe from “Upgrade” to “Craft.”
What the Horadric Cube recipe does
The recipe turns an eligible Unique into a Mythic for the same gear slot. For example, the result retains the input item’s slot; the patch notes do not specify that it preserves the input’s other properties. How to use the recipe
Blizzard’s cited patch notes establish the recipe’s input, cost, and output, but do not document the exact Cube menu sequence or unlock steps. In game, look for the Mythic recipe under its current “Craft” label and follow the Cube’s displayed requirements. Do not rely on an older “Upgrade” label or assume a particular quest, item-level threshold, or realm restriction: those details are not established in the cited notes.
Where to get Pandemonium Fragments
Blizzard’s 3.1 PTR preview listed the Seasonal Reputation board, Resplendent Caches, and the seasonal Lair Boss Corrupted Reaper as fragment sources. Those are season-specific routes described in a PTR preview, not confirmation that each source is available in the current season. What to verify before spending materials
- Confirm the item is a Unique and not a Mythic Unique.
- Check that you have four Pandemonium Fragments, the cost stated in the 3.1.1 notes.
- Read the current Cube recipe text and season rules before crafting; the cited sources do not establish current unlock requirements, fragment routes, or all seasonal constraints.
