For the current Sombra described in Blizzard’s October 6, 2026 patch-note listing, don’t wait for Hack to become available: that listing says Hack was removed from her main abilities after she moved to Support. It describes Weaken as halving an enemy’s damage and healing output, and says Hotfix can be used while Sombra is stealthed and temporarily reveals her. The patch page itself could not be verified, however, and Blizzard’s hero listing still names Hack, so check the live client for the current kit before relying on ability-specific tactics. What “Hack unavailable” means in the current version
The premise of the original question reflects an older Sombra kit. Blizzard’s October 6, 2026 indexed patch-note result says Sombra moved to the Support role and Hack was removed from her main abilities. It describes Weaken as cutting an enemy’s damage and healing output in half; it also says Hotfix can be activated while she is stealthed, temporarily revealing her. The excerpt does not establish exact durations, cooldowns, or how these abilities interact with particular heroes.
There is an official-source conflict: Blizzard’s Sombra hero listing still includes Hack. The patch-note page could not be opened to confirm its full text. Treat the newer patch-note listing as the strongest current signal, but use the live game client to confirm what Sombra can do in your mode and region.
How to respond when Sombra pressures you
Without verified current hero-specific matchups, the safest counterplay is team positioning and awareness rather than selecting a supposed hard counter. These are general team-shooter tactics, not tested Sombra-specific guarantees.

Stay within reach of teammates
Avoid drifting so far from allies that Sombra can focus you without anyone else able to respond. Staying close enough to trade attention and peel makes it easier for teammates to notice pressure and help; it does not guarantee that an engage will fail.
Use cover and line of sight
When threatened, move behind cover and break the attacker’s line of sight rather than remaining exposed. This is a general way to reduce incoming pressure and give teammates a chance to react; the available evidence does not establish a particular escape route or ability as a reliable answer to Sombra’s current kit.

React to cues, then reassess
Pay attention to visible ability effects and changes in the fight, and coordinate a response with nearby allies. Blizzard’s older Sombra design article explains the general design goal that a hero’s impact should be legible enough to inform enemy counterplay. Its descriptions concern historical ability details, not confirmation of the current kit, so use it as design context rather than a current ability guide: A Designer’s Journey into Sombra’s Rework.

Past Sombra guides often describe counterplay around Hack availability, Stealth, and commitment windows. Those specifics can become outdated when abilities change. Blizzard’s October 2024 notes said limited Stealth duration was intended to create “brief windows of vulnerability,” but that is historical context and does not confirm how the October 2026 Sombra works. Read the October 2024 patch notes only for that earlier version.

Likewise, do not infer precise timing, cooldowns, or hero matchups from the brief current patch-note excerpt. The evidence available does not establish which heroes can reveal or interrupt Sombra, or which choices are strongest against her.
