Use CloudConvert’s Website JPG Screenshot page to enter a webpage URL and create a JPG. Keep the full-size capture for the most detail, and choose the highest JPG quality setting available if the current interface offers one. JPG is inherently lossy, so this can minimize visible degradation, not guarantee a pixel-for-pixel lossless image.
Convert a webpage to JPG with CloudConvert
- Open CloudConvert’s Website JPG Screenshot page.
- Enter the webpage’s URL and submit it for capture.
- Keep the full-size screenshot unless you need a different screen resolution for a particular display or file-size target. CloudConvert says full-size capture is the default and that screen resolution and other parameters can be customized; the page does not enumerate the available resolution values.
- If the current interface shows a JPG quality control, select the highest value that suits your file-size needs. The reviewed page does not specify a control name or default quality value, so check the options shown rather than assuming a particular setting exists.
- Download the JPG and inspect small text, fine edges, gradients, and image detail at the size where you will use it. If those details look soft or show artifacts, retain the full resolution and raise the quality setting if available.
What “without losing quality” means for JPG
A webpage is rendered as pixels before the screenshot is encoded. JPG encoding is lossy: it can discard image information, so no JPG setting can honestly guarantee that every output pixel matches the original capture. CloudConvert describes JPG as lossy but does not publish a measured fidelity result or a specific JPG quality value on the reviewed consumer page.
For the best-looking JPG, avoid reducing resolution when legibility and fine detail matter. If the interface provides a quality setting, favor a higher setting when file size permits. Review the downloaded result at its intended display size; visible quality depends on both capture resolution and encoding.

CloudConvert’s format descriptions do not provide a universal file-size comparison for a particular webpage; the result depends on the content and encoding.

For repeatable captures: CloudConvert’s API
CloudConvert’s API names its website-capture operation capture-website. A capture task requires a website url and an output_format; an export task retrieves the resulting file. Its API documentation describes headless Chrome capture, URL or HTML input, full-page screenshots, custom viewport size and zoom, and waiting for a CSS selector before capture. This developer workflow differs from the consumer page’s direct URL-to-screenshot interface.
CloudConvert’s current consumer page and screenshot API page describe Chrome-based capture. A CloudConvert blog post dated May 23, 2014 mentioned WebKit; that is historical information, not evidence of the current capture engine.

Common problems and fixes
- The result is less crisp than expected: Check whether you selected a reduced resolution. Return to full-size capture and, if offered, raise JPG quality.
- You cannot find a JPG quality control: The reviewed consumer page does not document its precise name or default value. Use only settings currently displayed; do not rely on an assumed control.
- You need exact pixel preservation: JPG is lossy. Use PNG instead; CloudConvert describes its PNG compression as lossless.
- You are trying to convert a saved HTML file: The consumer screenshot page is for a webpage URL, not a documented local-file conversion workflow. For programmatic work, the API documents a
capture-websitetask with URL or HTML input. - The capture does not match the desired page state: For API-based captures, CloudConvert documents custom viewport and zoom settings and waiting for a CSS selector. Configure the capture for the content and layout you need.
