To uninstall Opera in Windows 11, open Settings > Apps > Installed apps, find Opera, choose Uninstall, and follow the prompts. Removing the app and deleting Opera profile data are separate steps: delete profile data only if you want to remove local bookmarks, history, saved passwords, extensions, and other personal data.
Back up anything you want to keep before deleting profile data. Opera recommends backing up its files before a clean install, and its recovery guidance warns that a full reset can delete personal browser data.
Uninstall Opera from Windows 11
- Close Opera and save or export any data you want to preserve.
- Open Start > Settings > Apps > Installed apps.
- Find Opera in the app list and open its menu.
- Select Uninstall, then follow the on-screen instructions.
This removes the application through Windows’ normal app controls. It does not necessarily remove Opera profile data; treat that as a separate cleanup decision.

Remove Opera profile data for a complete cleanup
Opera’s clean-install guidance treats uninstalling the application and deleting profile data as distinct actions. If your goal is to remove local personal data as well as the app, use Opera’s own guidance to identify and remove the appropriate profile data after uninstalling.
Deleting profile data can remove extensions, bookmarks, browsing history, saved passwords, and temporary data. Back up wanted files first. Do not delete folders based on a generic path or name: the correct location can depend on the installation, and removing the wrong folder risks losing unrelated data.

If Opera will not uninstall
- Restart your PC, then try uninstalling Opera again from Settings > Apps > Installed apps.
- If Windows offers Repair or Reset under the app’s Advanced options, try the available option and follow the prompts.
- Try another Windows uninstall route, such as Start > All apps or Control Panel’s Programs and Features.
- Follow any Windows troubleshooting prompts. If the issue remains, contact Opera support after trying the available Windows steps.

Does uninstalling Opera delete bookmarks and saved passwords?

What if Opera is not listed in Windows Settings?
Try uninstalling it from the Start menu’s All apps list or from Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features.
What should I try if Opera will not uninstall?
Restart the PC and try again from Settings. If available, use the app’s Repair or Reset option under Advanced options, then try another Windows uninstall route and follow any troubleshooting prompts.
