For routine cleaning, wash the removable parts and carafe with warm, soapy water. To descale, use the brewer’s CLEAN cycle with 16 oz of white vinegar and water to the Full line—or a coffee-maker-specific descaler—then run a full-carafe water-only brew to flush the system. Controls and removable parts can vary by model, so check the owner’s guide for your specific Ninja DualBrew.
Clean the removable parts after brewing
Let the coffee maker cool before removing parts. Use the set that matches your brew method:
- For grounds, remove the Ninja Grounds Adapter and brew basket.
- For pods, remove the Ninja Pod Adapter and brew basket.
Wash the used parts with soap and warm water. Wash the carafe and brew-through lid the same way; use a bottle brush or cloth inside the carafe, not a wire brush. Ninja recommends cleaning the carafe after each use. A soft foam brush can help clean it more thoroughly.
Rinse and wash the reservoir
Rinse the reservoir after brewing and refill it with fresh water before the next brew. For a full clean, empty it and either hand-wash it or put it in the dishwasher. Ninja recommends washing it weekly in the dishwasher’s bottom rack, upright with the opening facing down. See the Ninja owner’s guide for your model for care instructions specific to your machine.

When to run the Clean cycle
The CLEAN cycle descales calcium buildup that can affect brewing performance or coffee flavor. On models with an Intelligent Clean Cycle Indicator, the indicator turns orange when the brewer recommends cleaning. Hard water can make scale build up faster, so the cycle may be needed more often.
Descale the Ninja DualBrew
Ninja’s vinegar method uses 16 oz of white vinegar, with water added to the reservoir up to—but not above—the Full line. The guide specifies white vinegar for this method. Alternatively, use a descaling solution formulated specifically for coffee-maker cleaning and follow its package directions. Ninja warns that running CLEAN with water alone does not properly descale the brewer.

- Place the empty carafe under the brew basket and leave it there for the entire cycle.
- Pour 16 oz of white vinegar into the reservoir, then add water up to the Full line. If using a coffee-maker-specific descaler instead, prepare it according to the product’s directions.
- Press CLEAN. When the display highlights a full carafe and 60 oz, press CLEAN again to confirm and start the cycle.
- Let the cycle finish. It takes approximately 75 minutes and may pause while the brewer moves the cleaning mixture through the system. Canceling it means the brewer will not be properly descaled.
- When the brewer beeps and displays End, empty the carafe. Wash the reservoir with warm, soapy water to remove cleaning solution that could affect coffee flavor.
- Refill the reservoir with fresh water to the Full line. Run a full-carafe Classic brew with water only, discard the water, and thoroughly clean the carafe and brew basket.

What to do if the display says CLOG
CLOG can mean grounds have built up in the top or bottom needles, or that calcium scale is in the brew system. First check that the pod has been punctured. If you can see grounds in the needles, use a flat wire or plastic clip, such as a paper clip, to clear them. Then switch the brewer off and on and run a full-carafe Classic brew with water only.

If no grounds are visible, or CLOG remains after clearing visible grounds, the guide says scale may be the cause; run the Clean cycle.
