Choose the upcoming game that is available on your platform, fits your budget and free time, and genuinely interests you most. Then check the release date and any subscription terms close to launch; keep uncertain or later releases in a watch list instead of letting them crowd your immediate plans.

Start by narrowing the list to games you can actually play

Before comparing trailers, reviews, or wishlists, check whether each game is coming to the platform you own or plan to use. A title may be announced for several systems but have different release timing across them. A release calendar can help you find candidates, but confirm platform and timing on the individual game listing before planning around a date.

Separate firm dates from broad release windows and titles with no announced date. Put games without a firm date on a watch list: an uncertain release should not displace a game you can plan to play soon.

Rank the remaining games by personal fit

Start with what you are excited to play

Among games that fit your platform and timing, choose the one you are most eager to play—not automatically the loudest release or the title with the most visible wishlist activity. A wishlist records your interest, not a guarantee that a game is right for you. Steam says its Personalized Calendar includes games already on your wishlist whether or not its recommendation system selects them, and that its recommendations draw on games you play frequently and spend the most time playing. Steam’s explanation of its Personalized Calendar describes how those recommendations and wishlist entries appear.

Match the commitment to your available time

Think about whether you want a short diversion or a longer-running activity, and whether you have enough time for the kind of commitment you expect from a particular game. There is no universal playtime score or formula here; this is a personal constraint, not an objective ranking.

Account for the people you want to play with

If a game’s appeal depends on friends joining, consider when they are available and whether everyone can use a supported platform. A game that suits your group may be a better first choice than a solo favorite—or the reverse—depending on what you want from your next session.

Compare cost and subscription access carefully

A subscription offer can change which game is easiest to try, but do not assume that every new release is included on launch day or on every platform. Before relying on an offer, verify the exact title, full-release date, platform, eligible plan, and explicit day-one wording. A third-party Game Pass calendar cautions that a console launch by itself does not establish PC availability, and cloud support should not be assumed from plan membership. Check the service’s official listing and the game’s listing for the terms that apply.

Use release calendars to track—not decide for—you

Steam’s Upcoming Releases page is a live storefront list, useful for discovering dated entries but not a substitute for checking an individual game page. On October 5, 2026, it showed entries dated October 4 and October 5, including demos as well as games; the page changes over time.

Editorial schedules can help you discover games and compare dates across platforms. GamesRadar’s release-date roundup organizes titles by date and platform and separates known games without dates. Game Informer’s 2026 schedule says it is continually updated for announced dates, delays, and reveals, and assigns games to a month only after a date is confirmed. Treat these calendars as discovery tools and recheck a consequential date on the relevant storefront or publisher listing near launch.

Build a small queue and revisit it when things change

  1. Filter: Keep only games confirmed for your platform, and distinguish firm dates from windows or unannounced timing.
  2. Choose your first pick: Weigh your excitement, available time, group plans, and confirmed cost or subscription access.
  3. Save a few alternates: Keep other candidates on a wishlist or release calendar rather than trying to rank every announced game.
  4. Recheck near release: Update your queue if a date, platform listing, subscription term, or your own availability changes.

This is a practical decision framework, not a universal scoring system. Popularity and wishlist visibility cannot determine which game will be the best fit for an individual player.

Fortnite Physical Gift Card
  • An Epic Games account is required to redeem an Epic Games Store Card code
  • If playing on a console platform (PlayStation Network, Xbox Live, Nintendo Switch or Mobile) you need to link your Epic Games account to that gaming platform (one time) to redeem your gift card code
  • The 16 digit code on the back of the card WILL NOT work if redeemed directly through your gaming platform (PlayStation Network, Xbox Live, Nintendo Switch, Mobile, etc.)
  • Note: Nintendo devices do not support Fortnite Shared Wallet, so V-Bucks purchased using your account balance will not show up on your Nintendo device. However, if you purchase items in the web Item Shop — or another platform where you play Fortnite — those items will be available in your Locker across all platforms.
  • Redemption: Online
