Choose based on your running priorities
Choose OpenRun Pro 2 for longer stated battery life and USB-C
Shokz says OpenRun Pro 2 lasts up to 12 hours, compared with 8 hours for OpenRun. Those are manufacturer figures, not a guarantee of runtime in every use. Its USB-C charging may also be more convenient if you prefer a common charging connection over a dedicated magnetic cable.

Choose OpenRun if price and its IP67 rating matter more
At the time Shokz’s U.S. pages were accessed in 2026, OpenRun was listed for $129.95, versus $179.95 for OpenRun Pro 2. OpenRun also carries the higher listed rating, IP67 versus IP55 for Pro 2. These ratings are not interchangeable, and a higher rating does not make OpenRun a swimming headphone: Shokz says it is not recommended for underwater swimming. Check the product details for how the rating applies to the conditions you expect.
Consider Pro 2 if you want its additional sound features
Shokz describes Pro 2’s DualPitch system as using both bone-conduction and air-conduction drivers, and lists EQ options. These are design and feature claims, not evidence that it sounds better than OpenRun. No independent comparative listening test is available here, so use the feature list to decide what you want rather than treating it as a sound-quality verdict. Check the fit before ordering
OpenRun is offered in Standard and Mini sizes, and Shokz provides sizing guidance. Use the current official fit advice rather than guessing from head size alone; fit can affect how securely the headphones sit during a run.
