Choose Baldur’s Gate 3 if you want to shape a character within a party and make decisions that affect your adventure. Its Dungeons & Dragons foundation and range of character options make it the clearest choice here for tabletop-inspired role-play rather than reflex-led combat.
Elden Ring: exploration and action combat
Elden Ring is the action-RPG choice. Bandai Namco describes an authentic dark fantasy world, dangerous dungeons, and boss battles. Expect the appeal to come from exploring that world and mastering challenging encounters, not from a party-based, turn-based structure.
Diablo IV: progression and customization
Diablo IV fits players drawn to action and ongoing character development. Blizzard’s feature overview highlights persistent progression and customization. Those points do not, by themselves, establish how the game’s current endgame or seasonal design works, so use current official details if those systems are decisive for you.

Dragon Age: The Veilguard: a single-player character-driven RPG
Dragon Age: The Veilguard offers a character-driven single-player action RPG experience. On PC, EA documents keyboard and mouse as well as controller support, plus NVIDIA DLSS 3, FSR 2.2 (modified for the game), and XeSS. These options may matter when deciding how you want to play or which graphics features to use.
Path of Exile 2: build theorycrafting, with status to verify
Consider Path of Exile 2 if working through complex character builds is a major part of the fun. PC Gamer’s August 31, 2026 overview described it as still in Early Access. Because access status can change, check the game’s current status before buying or planning around its development stage.

Elden Ring or Baldur’s Gate 3?
These games offer very different kinds of challenge. Choose Elden Ring if you want to explore a dark fantasy world and overcome action-combat encounters through practice. Choose Baldur’s Gate 3 if you want a party, a tabletop-inspired character framework, and choices that shape a role-play-focused adventure. The better fit depends on whether you want to test your timing and combat execution or make decisions as part of a narrative party RPG.

EA’s current purchase page lists The Veilguard for PC through the EA app, Steam, and Epic Games Store. Prices and editions are not interchangeable
EA’s 2024 launch announcement named a suggested U.S. PC price of $59.99 for The Veilguard. That is historical launch pricing, not a current quote. The same announcement described the Rook’s Coffer physical keepsake collection at a suggested $150, with the game not included; check current availability and price before relying on either figure.
Larian’s official store lists a Baldur’s Gate 3 PC Deluxe Edition and says it includes a game disc. That establishes an official physical PC-game product path, but not current availability at any particular retailer.

For Elden Ring, Bandai Namco’s official page describes the Tarnished Edition as including the base game, Shadow of the Erdtree expansion, new armor, and a Torrent appearance customization feature. Its 2026 announcement identifies availability for Nintendo Switch 2 and a Tarnished Pack for PC via Steam and console platforms. Confirm the specific PC product and contents on the relevant storefront before buying; the named edition and pack should not be assumed to be the same offer.
