Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Start by choosing the multi-room system you want to use, then confirm that each speaker model can join it. Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, or a familiar streaming service on a speaker does not, by itself, mean it can play in sync with speakers from another brand. Check the exact model’s grouping support before you buy.
Choose the ecosystem before comparing speakers
Multi-room listening depends on compatible control and playback—not simply on having several wireless speakers. First identify the platform already used by your household, such as Google Home/Cast, AirPlay 2, Sonos, or a manufacturer’s own system. Then check whether the specific speaker can join groups on that platform.
Google Home can play media on combinations of compatible Google speakers, displays, tablets, and streaming devices, and lets users select devices or preset speaker groups in the Google Home app. Third-party models require model-specific compatibility checks; Wi-Fi alone does not establish that a speaker can join a Google group. See Google’s multi-room playback guidance.
Sonos describes its players working together in groups within the Sonos system. That is different from assuming Sonos speakers will join another brand’s groups. Review Sonos’ explanation of its system and the candidate speaker’s current documentation before deciding.

Check the services and controls your household actually uses
AirPlay 2, Google Cast, Spotify Connect, Tidal Connect, and a speaker maker’s own app or multi-room system are distinct capabilities, not interchangeable labels. Make a shortlist of the services people use, then verify that each candidate supports the relevant method and can participate in the desired group. Support can differ by model and region.
For example, Audio Pro’s product sheets for the C5 MkII W and C20 W list Google Cast, AirPlay 2, Spotify Connect, and Tidal Connect alongside Audio Pro multi-room features. Those are manufacturer-stated specifications for these models, not a guarantee that every Audio Pro product has the same support. Check the C5 MkII W product information or C20 W product information for the particular model.

Know what Bluetooth can—and cannot—do
Bluetooth is useful for direct playback from a phone or guest device, but it does not automatically send audio to speakers in other rooms. Ask whether Bluetooth works only on the speaker receiving the connection or can feed a grouped system.
Sonos documents Bluetooth audio sharing to grouped Sonos products for a specific list of speakers: Arc Ultra, Beam Ultra, Era 100, Era 100 SL, Era 300, Move 2, Roam, Roam 2, Roam SL, and Sonos Play. The Bluetooth-capable speaker must already be set up on the Sonos system over Wi-Fi and remain grouped. Because supported products can change, check Sonos’ current Bluetooth-sharing support page before relying on this feature.

Separate room grouping from stereo pairing
A room group plays synchronized content on speakers in multiple rooms. A stereo pair assigns left and right channels to two speakers in one room. If you want both uses, check that the model supports each separately; rules can vary by system and speaker type.
Sonos says two players of the same type can be bonded as a stereo pair, with one handling the left channel and the other the right. Audio Pro’s C5 MkII W information also lists the ability to group two units as a left/right setup. These are model- and system-specific features, not proof that any two speakers can form a stereo pair.

Match the speaker to the room and its sources
Consider where the speaker will sit, how it will be used, and what needs to connect to it. A bedroom or background-listening space may call for a compact unit; a shared room or a TV setup may make physical inputs more important. A product’s dimensions or driver size alone cannot establish how it will sound in your room.
- For a compact room or flexible placement: The Audio Pro C5 MkII W product sheet lists a compact cabinet, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and a line input. It also lists 2.4/5 GHz Wi-Fi, Google Cast, AirPlay 2, Spotify Connect, Tidal Connect, multi-room playback, and Wi-Fi timing synchronization. These are manufacturer specifications, not independent performance findings.
- For a TV, turntable, or other wired source: The Audio Pro C20 W product sheet lists HDMI ARC, optical, line, phono, and subwoofer output connections. It says a turntable can use the built-in RIAA stage and be restreamed to other Audio Pro speakers in the system. Confirm the current model and app support if that feature matters to you.
For broader comparison context, What Hi-Fi?’s 2026 multi-room speaker guide lists the C20 W and its supported streaming options; its 2026 multi-room systems guide includes editorial comparisons. These guides can help build a shortlist, but they do not establish which speaker will sound best in a particular room.

Check network coverage and practical placement
Multi-room playback relies on a working network connection at each speaker’s location. Before buying, consider whether Wi-Fi reaches the intended rooms reliably and whether there is a suitable power outlet. Product sheets may specify supported Wi-Fi bands for a particular model, but those specifications cannot predict coverage or synchronization in an individual home. Do not assume that one speaker’s stated band or connectivity guarantees performance through your walls and across your layout.
Quick Recap
Use this buying checklist
- Name your platform: Decide whether you want Google Home/Cast, AirPlay 2, Sonos, or another system to control playback.
- Verify the exact model: Confirm that it can join the groups you intend to use; do not infer support from Wi-Fi or Bluetooth labels.
- Match streaming methods: Check support for your household’s services and whether playback is controlled through an app, casting, or a Connect feature.
- Choose the right playback arrangement: Decide whether you need groups across rooms, a stereo pair in one room, or both.
- Check sources and placement: Confirm required inputs for a TV, turntable, or existing system, then make sure Wi-Fi and power are available where the speaker will go.
- Validate Bluetooth expectations: If guests need direct playback, establish whether Bluetooth is standalone or can share audio with grouped speakers, including any setup requirements.
