A feature advertised by an exchange may not be available through every connected charting workflow. Coinbase Advanced documents TradingView-powered charts and several order types, including TWAP; Kraken’s TradingView connection supports a narrower order set than Kraken Pro itself. Compare the actual workflow—not just the exchange’s headline feature list—and confirm current availability for your account and location.
What to compare before choosing
Start with the specific market and workflow you expect to use. The most useful chart is one that presents the information you need alongside the order controls you intend to use, without forcing you to assume that charting features and order features are identical across interfaces.
- Chart analysis: Check chart types and timeframes, indicators, drawing tools, and whether order-book or depth information is visible alongside the chart.
- Order coverage: Verify that each order type you rely on is supported in the exchange interface you will actually use.
- Execution controls: Look for time-in-force options, post-only or reduce-only settings, stop triggers, attached exits, and how partial fills are handled.
- Order management: Find out where you preview, modify, monitor, and cancel orders. Check whether account tasks such as deposits and withdrawals happen in a separate interface.
- Market and region access: Confirm that the specific asset pair and integration are available for your country and account.
These are product descriptions from the exchanges, not independent tests of execution quality, liquidity, uptime, chart accuracy, or suitability. Use them to identify features to verify in your own account, not as proof that one platform will perform better.
Compare the documented charting and order workflows
| Platform or workflow | Documented charting | Documented order features | Important qualification |
|---|---|---|---|
| Coinbase Advanced | Interactive charts with TradingView functionality, chart types, indicators, drawing tools, order book, depth chart, live trade history, and order panels. | Market, limit, take-profit/stop-loss, bracket, stop-limit, and TWAP orders. Limit orders include GTC, GTD, and IOC instructions. | Coinbase says products and pairs vary by region and market. Some chart and order-form settings may be limited to the browser or device. |
| Kraken Pro charting | Kraken advertises multiple timeframes and chart types, drawing tools including Fibonacci, and “100+ indicators.” | Kraken advertises placing orders from the chart; the specific order set depends on the workflow. See the TradingView connection details below. | The indicator count and feature description are Kraken’s own claims, not independent measurements of chart quality. |
| Kraken TradingView connection | Chart trading through the TradingView interface, with order previews and chart/DOM management described in Kraken’s support guide. | Market, limit, stop, and stop-limit orders; GTC, IOC, and GTD time in force; post-only and reduce-only settings; optional take-profit and stop-loss exits. | Trailing stop and conditional order types are not offered through this connection; Kraken directs users to place them directly on Kraken Pro. Deposits, withdrawals, and account management remain on Kraken Pro. |
Coinbase Advanced: charts and order types
Coinbase describes Advanced as a platform for more experienced traders. Its dashboard documentation covers interactive charts, order books, live trade history, a depth chart, and order panels, as well as TradingView functionality, chart types, indicators, and custom drawing tools. The documentation also discusses persistent chart and order-form settings, though some settings may be specific to a browser or device. See Coinbase Advanced’s dashboard and trading tools.

- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Coinbase’s order guide lists several distinct ways to enter or manage orders. Availability can depend on the product, pair, region, and account, so treat the list as a set of features to check rather than a guarantee that every option applies to every market. Consult Coinbase’s current order-type guide.
- Market: Intended for immediate execution at the best available market price. Coinbase warns that an order may fill in parts at multiple prices and is not guaranteed to execute at the displayed buy or sell price.
- Limit: Sets a price condition for the order. Coinbase documents GTC (good till canceled), GTD (good till date), and IOC (immediate or cancel) instructions for limit orders.
- Take-profit/stop-loss and bracket: Coinbase describes these as tools for setting exit levels or managing an existing position.
- Stop-limit: A stop price triggers a limit order; the trigger and limit price serve different roles in the order.
- TWAP: Splits a larger order into scheduled executions over a chosen period. Coinbase’s guide describes setting a start time, duration, and limit-price parameters.
Kraken Pro and its TradingView connection
Kraken advertises multiple timeframes and chart types, drawing tools including Fibonacci, more than 100 indicators, and the ability to place orders from a chart on Kraken Pro. The “100+ indicators” figure is Kraken’s own product claim, not an independent assessment of charting quality. Review Kraken Pro’s charting feature description.

The order tools available through Kraken’s TradingView connection are not the same as every order type offered directly on Kraken Pro. Kraken documents market, limit, stop, and stop-limit orders through the connection, with GTC, IOC, and GTD time-in-force options, plus post-only and reduce-only settings. Its guide also describes optional take-profit and stop-loss exits. Trailing stop and conditional orders are not available in this TradingView workflow; Kraken says to place those directly on Kraken Pro. Check Kraken’s current TradingView integration guide.
The connection requires a verified Kraken account, funds, and a supported region. Kraken says deposits, withdrawals, and account management remain on Kraken Pro, so the connected chart interface does not replace the exchange’s account-management workflow.

Verify your market, region, and account
Before opening or funding an account, confirm that your intended asset pair and the specific order workflow are available where you live. Coinbase directs users to the pairs available in their country; Kraken’s integration has regional and account prerequisites. These details can change, and product availability may differ even within the same exchange.
- Identify the exact asset pair and exchange product you plan to trade.
- Check the exchange’s current regional availability and supported-pairs information for your country.
- Confirm that your account meets any verification or funding requirements for the chart integration.
- Open the intended interface and verify that the chart tools and order settings are present for that market.
- Check the current official order guide for any limitations before relying on an order type.
How to make the final choice
Write down the chart tools and order controls you genuinely need, then test whether they are available together in the relevant market and interface. If you depend on an order type that is absent from a chart connection, decide whether switching to the exchange’s native interface is acceptable. Also review how orders are previewed and managed, what time-in-force settings are available, and whether you can monitor order-book or depth information in the same workflow.
