To see which apps recently used your location, camera, or microphone, open Settings > Security and Privacy or Privacy > Privacy dashboard, then choose a permission. For a full list of apps with a permission—or to change access—use Permission Manager or the app’s Permissions screen. Menu names differ by Android version and device maker.
See which apps recently accessed a permission
- Open Settings.
- Tap Security and Privacy or Privacy. On some devices, tap Privacy again.
- Tap Privacy dashboard.
- Choose Location, Camera, or Microphone to see listed apps and when they accessed that permission.
- Tap an app to review or change its access.
Google documents Privacy Dashboard for Android 12 and later, but the history window depends on the version: it covers the last 24 hours on Android 12 and the last 7 days on Android 13. It is not an unlimited activity log. Google’s Privacy Dashboard instructions describe the supported versions and steps.
Choose the right screen for a broader permissions audit
| Screen or control | Best for | What it shows or controls |
|---|---|---|
| Privacy Dashboard | Checking recent access | Permission activity within the version-specific history window. |
| Permission Manager | Finding every app with a particular permission | Apps grouped by permission type; you can change an app’s permission. |
| App Permissions | Reviewing one app | The permissions granted to or denied for that app. |
| Location app permissions | Fine-tuning location access | Per-app location access levels and, where available, a precise-location control. |
| Green indicator and Quick Settings | Checking or stopping current camera or microphone use | The indicator identifies current use; Quick Settings tiles can disable camera or microphone access device-wide. |
Audit apps by permission
Open Settings > Security and Privacy > Privacy > Permission Manager, choose a permission, and inspect the apps listed. The exact path can vary. If you cannot find Permission Manager, search Settings for “Permission Manager” or the permission name. Google’s app permission instructions cover the general process and note that some steps depend on Android version and device.
Review one app’s permissions
Go to Settings > Apps, select the app (tap See all apps if necessary), then tap Permissions. Depending on the permission and device, available choices may include Allow only while using the app, Ask every time, or Don’t allow. Location may also offer Allow all the time.

- 【Strong Adsorption】The inspiration of the silicone phone suction case comes from the adhesive force of the octopus. Each suction cup phone mount is 3.15 inches long and 2.17 inches wide, with 24 independent suction cups providing a stronger and more stable suction force, so you don't have to worry about your phone falling during use.
- 【Back of Phone Suction Grip】Remove the adhesive film on the phone suction cup and stick it on the phone case. You can then fix the phone on any smooth surface, which is very convenient. (The phone suction cup cannot be removed and reused after being attached to the phone case. It is recommended to attach it to a regular phone case, not a valuable one.)
- 【Widely Used】Our non-slip silicone phone sticky grip mount attaches to almost any flat phone case and make it compatible with common mobile phones such as iPhone and Android. You can shoot, watch videos or video calls in the kitchen, gym, dance studio, bathroom and other places.
- 【Capture the Wonderful Picture】Whether you are a TikTok creator or just like to share videos and photos, this phone suction cup can help you hands-free capture wonderful videos and photos for sharing with friends.
- 【Note】You can fix the phone suction cup on a smooth surface such as a mirror or glass. If necessary, wipe the suction cup with a damp cloth to obtain stronger suction. Before releasing your hand, make sure the phone is firmly fixed. (Not applicable to rough walls, wooden surfaces, and other uneven surfaces)
Review and adjust location access
For a location-specific list, open Settings > Location > App location permissions. Apps are grouped by access level, such as Allowed all the time, Allowed only while in use, Ask every time or allow when I share, and Not allowed. Tap an app to change its setting. Google documents this route in its location permission guidance.
When an app is allowed to use location, you may also be able to turn off Use precise location for that app. Google describes approximate location as indicating an area of about 3 square kilometers, while precise location indicates the device’s exact location. This is Google’s description of the options, not a guarantee of real-world accuracy in every situation. The available controls can vary by device and app. See Google’s explanation of location permissions.

- SUPERIOR COMFORT — Unlike traditional circular ear buds, the design of EarPods is defined by the geometry of the ear. Which makes them more comfortable for more people than any other ear bud–style headphones.
- HIGH-QUALITY AUDIO — The speakers inside EarPods have been engineered to maximize sound output and minimize sound loss, which means you get high-quality audio.
- BUILT-IN REMOTE — EarPods with USB-C plug also include a built-in remote that lets you adjust the volume, control the playback of music and video, and answer or end calls with a pinch of the cord.
- COMPATIBILITY — Works with all devices that have a USB-C port.
- INTEGRATED MICROPHONE — A built-in microphone precisely captures your voice while you’re on the phone, taking a FaceTime call, or summoning Siri — so you’re always heard loud and clear.
Check whether the camera or microphone is in use now
On Android 12 and later, a green indicator appears at the top right while an app or service uses the camera or microphone. Tap the indicator to identify what is using it; tap again to manage permissions. Google’s camera and microphone instructions describe the indicator and controls.
To block access across the device, swipe down to open Quick Settings and tap the Camera access or Microphone access tile. If you do not see a tile, open Quick Settings’ Edit controls and add it. These tiles affect device-wide access; use an app’s permission settings if you want to limit only one app.

Know what turning off device Location changes
Turning off Settings > Location is broader than denying location to a single app: Google says apps do not receive device location when Location is off. Emergency location services or a mobile carrier may still automatically send location to emergency responders when you call or text an emergency number. If you want some apps to retain access while restricting others, change per-app location permissions instead. See Google’s device location settings guidance.
