You may be in the PlayStation Store settlement class if you live in the United States and bought a listed qualifying digital game through the PlayStation Store between April 1, 2019, and December 31, 2023. The fastest check is to compare your exact digital game edition with the official eligible-games list linked from the settlement website. The game—not your individual voucher use—must also meet the settlement’s voucher and price criteria.
Check these eligibility requirements
Under the settlement’s definition, all of the following must apply:
- You are in the United States.
- You bought the game through the PlayStation Store, rather than relying only on a physical retail purchase.
- Your purchase date was between April 1, 2019, and December 31, 2023.
- The exact game or product edition appears on the official eligible-games list linked from the settlement website.
- The game met the settlement’s voucher and price tests described below.
How to check a game you bought
- Find the transaction. Check your PlayStation purchase history or other transaction records for the digital game, edition, and date. A physical copy or simply owning a PlayStation does not establish eligibility.
- Compare the exact title and edition. Open the official eligible-games list linked from the settlement website. The list includes product IDs and title names. Match the digital Store purchase as closely as possible; a different game in the same franchise or a physical edition is not a substitute for a match.
- Understand what the list represents. A qualifying game had to have a game-specific voucher available for retail purchase before April 1, 2019; at least 200 of those vouchers had to be redeemed before that date; and the game’s post-discount price had to rise by at least $0.50 between January 1, 2017–March 31, 2019 and April 1, 2019–December 31, 2023. These tests concern the game. You do not need to show that you personally bought or redeemed a voucher.
A game-specific voucher is a physical voucher or electronic code bought from a retailer other than Sony Interactive Entertainment that lets a PlayStation user download one specific game from PSN. The settlement’s official FAQ and linked documents provide the class definition and list.
Do you need to file a claim?
No ordinary claim form is required for class members, according to the settlement administrator’s FAQ. The settlement plan provides for distribution as PlayStation Network account credits, subject to court approval and the approved allocation.

What if your PSN account is inactive?
The administrator’s FAQ said people with deactivated accounts could request payment by check by providing qualifying purchase information and a current mailing address. Its stated deadline was August 27, 2026, which had passed as of October 7, 2026. Contact the administrator to ask whether any option remains available; a late request is not guaranteed to be accepted.
Settlement status and deadlines
As of October 7, 2026, final approval was still pending. The settlement website’s September 2026 update scheduled the fairness hearing for October 15, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at 1301 Clay Street, Oakland, California, Courtroom 5, 2nd Floor. Check the official settlement website for changes to the hearing information or later approval and distribution instructions.

The July 2, 2026 deadlines to opt out or object and the October 1, 2026 deadline to notify the court of an intent to appear had passed by October 7. The administrator’s FAQ says that a person who did not opt out on time gives up the right to sue Sony separately over the conduct alleged in this case. This is a description of the settlement notice, not individualized legal advice.
What the settlement amount means
The Second Revised Settlement Agreement states a total settlement amount of $7,850,000. It is not a promised payment to each person: the amount is subject to court approval and deductions for approved fees, costs, expenses, service awards, notice, and administration. The plan allocates the net amount pro rata based on each eligible member’s qualifying purchases relative to the total qualifying purchases. A final individual amount is not established in the public materials cited here.

The administrator’s FAQ says class counsel may request attorneys’ fees of up to 25% of the settlement amount and aggregate service awards of $30,000 for named plaintiffs, if approved. Those are potential requests, not confirmed awards.
What the case alleges
The plaintiffs allege that Sony engaged in anticompetitive conduct affecting the digital PlayStation game market and caused consumers to pay more for certain games. Sony denies that its conduct violated the law or that class members are entitled to relief. The administrator’s notice states: “THE COURT HAS NOT DECIDED WHETHER DEFENDANT VIOLATED ANY LAWS.”
