To check whether your website supports post-quantum TLS key agreement, enter its public hostname in Cloudflare Radar’s Post-Quantum Encryption tool and inspect the handshake result for X25519MLKEM768. The tool initiates its own connection, so its result applies to that hostname, port, and test connection—not automatically to every visitor or every connection between your site and its origin.
Run a post-quantum TLS check on your public host
- Choose the endpoint. Identify the public hostname and TLS port you want to test. Radar uses port 443 by default; enter a different port if your TLS service runs elsewhere.
- Test the host. Open Cloudflare Radar’s Post-Quantum Encryption page, enter the hostname and port, and run the host check. Cloudflare says the tool initiates a TLS handshake with the specified host and examines the key-exchange algorithm negotiated during that connection.
- Read the result. Look for X25519MLKEM768, the hybrid key-agreement group identified in Cloudflare’s current documentation. A host check is evidence about the test connection; it does not show what every client will negotiate.
Cloudflare announced the host checker on February 27, 2026, describing it as a way to check a publicly accessible website and optional port. The test is not a generic TLS grade: focus on the negotiated key-exchange group.
Check what your browser actually negotiated
If you want to know what happened in your own browser session, inspect that active connection rather than relying only on a host support check. Cloudflare’s guidance describes Chrome DevTools’ Security tab as a way to view the negotiated key agreement. This tells you about one client-to-endpoint session under its specific conditions, not all users’ sessions.
Browser capability and website negotiation are different. A browser may support post-quantum key agreement, but that does not prove that every site it visits negotiates it. A server’s support and the client’s support both matter.

Understand what a positive result proves
It confirms hybrid key agreement for the tested handshake
X25519MLKEM768 combines classical X25519 elliptic-curve key exchange with ML-KEM, the post-quantum key encapsulation mechanism selected by NIST. In the hybrid agreement, the components produce shared secrets that TLS combines. Cloudflare describes the design as retaining X25519 protection while adding a post-quantum component. Its documentation identifies the hybrid group as usable with TLS 1.3-based protocols, including HTTP/3. See Cloudflare’s post-quantum cryptography documentation, last updated July 3, 2026.
It does not confirm post-quantum certificates or signatures
The key-agreement result concerns how the TLS session establishes keys. It does not show that the site’s certificate or authentication signature is post-quantum. Cloudflare treats post-quantum signatures and certificates as a separate migration area.

Do not confuse the current group with an obsolete draft
Cloudflare marks X25519Kyber768Draft00 obsolete. Do not report that draft group as equivalent to the currently recommended X25519MLKEM768.
Separate CDN connections from origin connections
When a TLS-terminating CDN or reverse proxy sits in front of your site, there are at least two connections to consider: visitor-to-edge and edge-to-origin. A positive result on the visitor-facing connection does not establish that the CDN’s separate connection to your origin uses post-quantum key agreement.

- Public hostname check: Radar connects to the hostname you specify. If that hostname resolves to a CDN edge, the result concerns the handshake to that endpoint.
- Visitor-to-edge traffic: Cloudflare says its TLS 1.3 websites and APIs support hybrid post-quantum key agreement when the client also supports it. Cloudflare customers can inspect visitor-to-Cloudflare key-exchange groups in HTTP Traffic Analytics and logs.
- Edge-to-origin traffic: Assess the origin-side TLS connection separately. Cloudflare documents separate origin-connection visibility in logs; the origin’s own support matters. It also documents Cloudflare Tunnel as an option for connecting legacy origins.
Cloudflare’s guidance recommends checking TLS 1.3 when no X25519MLKEM768 traffic appears. The documented hybrid groups require TLS 1.3-based protocols. Traffic using classical groups, or showing no observed post-quantum group, can also reflect visitors using non-browser clients without compatible TLS 1.3 or hybrid-group support. Consequently, aggregate traffic need not be entirely post-quantum even when a service is configured to negotiate the hybrid group with compatible clients.

A support scan and a negotiated session answer different questions. Cloudflare Radar’s origin scanner checks whether an origin supports X25519MLKEM768, rather than whether the origin has configured it as its preferred option. A live handshake shows the group selected for that test’s client and conditions. Compare the results using these distinctions:

- Endpoint: Was the check aimed at the CDN edge, the origin, another hostname, or another port?
- Connection leg: Is the result for visitor-to-CDN or CDN-to-origin TLS?
- Client: Did the test client or browser support the hybrid group and compatible TLS 1.3?
- What was measured: Does the result describe server capability, one negotiated handshake, or aggregated traffic?
Cloudflare Radar’s live statistics have distinct scopes: HTTPS requests served through Cloudflare and daily scans of Cloudflare customer origins. They are not a census of every website, so a displayed percentage should be interpreted with its date range, geography, population, and metric in view.
