To answer “Can my PC run [game]?”, find that game’s own system requirements in the EA app and compare them with your Windows PC’s specifications. EA’s recommended check is to use DxDiag to identify your processor, memory, graphics card, driver and DirectX version. A match with the minimum requirements indicates baseline playability—not a promise of high settings or a particular frame rate.
1. Find the requirements for the exact EA game
- Open the EA app and select Store.
- Select the game you want to play to open its Game Hub.
- Scroll to the bottom of the page and find the game’s system requirements.
Each game has its own requirements, so use the listing for the title you plan to play. The EA app’s own system requirements describe the app, not the game. EA Help explains where to find a game’s requirements in the app.
2. Check your PC’s specifications with DxDiag
- In Windows, search for
dxdiagand open the DirectX Diagnostic Tool. - If Windows offers a 64-bit DxDiag option, run that version.
- Wait for the report to finish loading, then select Save All Information to save a text copy you can refer to while comparing specifications.
DxDiag reports information including your processor, memory (RAM), graphics card, graphics driver version and date, page-file size, limited error messages and DirectX version. The Display tab shows the graphics adapter. Electronic Arts advises: “Compare your system specs in the DxDiag with the game’s minimum requirements to make sure your setup can run the game.” EA’s DxDiag instructions describe how to create the report.
3. Compare the requirements with your PC
Match the game’s listed requirements against the corresponding entries in DxDiag and Windows. Check each item the game specifies; a broad match such as “NVIDIA graphics” is not enough, because the exact model matters.

- Operating system: Check the Windows version and whether the game requires 64-bit Windows.
- Processor: Compare the CPU model, not just its manufacturer.
- Memory: Compare installed RAM with the listed amount.
- Graphics card: Match the specific GPU model and, if stated, its video memory.
- DirectX: Check any required version or feature level; a DirectX version alone may not establish that the graphics card supports the required feature level.
- Storage: Confirm the game’s required free space is available on the drive where you intend to install it.
- Internet: Check whether the listing requires broadband or another connection.
Use the game’s own minimum and recommended tiers if both are listed. Minimum requirements describe a baseline for playing; recommended requirements are the higher target published for that game. They do not, by themselves, promise a particular resolution, graphics preset or frame rate. Madden NFL 26’s PC requirements page is one example of a title-specific listing.
4. Understand what the result means
If your PC meets the minimum requirements
EA says a PC that meets minimum requirements can play the game, but that does not mean it will run well at the highest settings. If your system is close to the minimum, closing background applications may help. A current match also does not guarantee that later updates or expansions will continue to run on the same hardware. EA’s PC graphics troubleshooting guidance explains this distinction.

If your PC meets the recommended requirements
That means your specifications match the game’s higher published target. Do not treat it as a guaranteed performance result: the requirements page may not specify a frame rate, resolution or graphics preset.
If one or more components fall short
Check whether the game fails a minimum requirement or only falls below the recommended tier. A shortfall against a minimum CPU, GPU, RAM, DirectX feature level, operating system or storage requirement means your PC does not meet the publisher’s stated baseline. Do not assume that a strong result in another category compensates for a mismatch.

5. Check the graphics adapter and driver
On a laptop, confirm that the game is using the dedicated graphics adapter if the system has one. Some systems may fail to switch to it automatically. If DxDiag does not show the expected graphics card, check the system’s graphics settings and whether the adapter is detected; a missing entry can point to a hardware issue or an adapter-selection problem. EA’s graphics troubleshooting guidance covers GPU detection and driver checks.
EA recommends checking that the graphics driver is current and getting drivers from the GPU manufacturer’s official source. Its guidance also notes that many recent games may not run well or at all without a dedicated GPU, so an integrated adapter should not be assumed to meet a listed dedicated-card requirement.

Consult the current game listing for the complete set of requirements. The example shows why it is important to compare the exact model and tier: meeting Madden NFL 26’s minimum GPU listing is not the same as meeting its recommended GPU listing.
