“Can my PC run this game?” Start with the RPG’s current system requirements on its official store page, then compare them with your PC’s operating system, processor, graphics card, memory, and available storage. Treat the result as a screening check, not a promise of smooth performance or a particular frame rate.
Find the RPG’s official system requirements
Use the game’s current store listing as your reference. On Steam, open the game’s Store page and scroll to System Requirements. Steam advises checking hardware requirements as well as whether the game supports your operating system. Steam Support explains where to find these details.
Check the operating-system version and architecture the game requires; 64-bit Windows is a common requirement noted by Steam Support. Then compare the listed processor (CPU), graphics card (GPU), system memory (RAM), and available storage with your PC. Include any stated graphics-memory or graphics-feature requirement. If the publisher has not listed a value, leave it unknown rather than filling it in with a guess.
Compare minimum and recommended specs separately
Read both sets of requirements if the publisher provides them. Minimum is the publisher’s stated baseline; recommended is a separate, higher target. Compare each component individually rather than treating the requirements as one overall score.

- Operating system: Match the supported version and architecture.
- CPU: Compare the processor model or stated class with your own.
- GPU: Check the graphics card and any listed memory or feature requirement.
- RAM: Compare installed system memory, not storage capacity.
- Storage: Check that enough space is available on the drive where you plan to install the game.
A minimum-spec match does not establish a particular frame rate or guarantee that the game will feel smooth. Publishers do not use minimum and recommended labels with one universal performance meaning, and results can also depend on drivers, resolution, graphics settings, and the rest of the system configuration.
Check your PC’s hardware and operating system
Before comparing, identify the exact parts in your PC rather than relying on a general model name or a checker’s initial guess. On Windows, open Settings > System > About to see the Windows edition and system type. For CPU and RAM details, use Task Manager > Performance. To identify the graphics processor, check the GPU entry in Task Manager or open Device Manager > Display adapters. Check available drive space in File Explorer > This PC.

Compare the parts shown there with the game listing. Laptop and desktop versions of similarly named graphics cards can differ, so use the actual device name shown by Windows and check any exact model or memory requirement stated by the publisher.
Use an online checker as an optional cross-check
Automated tools can organize a comparison, but inspect what they actually detect and where their requirement data comes from. They are not a substitute for the current game listing.

Manual selection
CanItRunPC says users can select a game, graphics card, and RAM, with a fuller tool adding CPU, and that it compares those selections with minimum and recommended specifications it reads from Steam pages. It also says fields remain blank when a publisher has not supplied requirement data. Those are the service’s own descriptions, not independent validation of its catalog.
Browser detection
CanIRun.gg says it can read a GPU through WebGL and compare a performance score against Steam-listed requirements. Its methodology cautions that its grade is not a benchmark of the exact PC, and that drivers, resolution, and settings affect frame rate. Its FAQ says browser CPU information may be limited to core count and reported RAM may be capped, so correct the selected parts manually when needed. These are claims about the tool’s own method, not independent accuracy testing.

If a checker reports a pass or favorable grade, verify the underlying component comparison against the RPG’s current store page. A single grade can conceal which part is close to or below a requirement.

Identify the specific mismatch before considering a change. A graphics card upgrade will not resolve an unsupported operating system, an underpowered CPU, insufficient RAM, or a storage shortfall. Check the requirement and the exact part that misses it; only then investigate whether a compatible upgrade or another solution addresses that gap. Do not buy hardware based only on a broad checker grade.
