Check the latest official guidance for the specific game, and verify each type of data separately.
Find the official policy for the exact game
Start with the game publisher’s official support site, FAQ, news page, or launch announcement. Search the site for terms such as “soft launch,” “global launch,” “progress reset,” “data transfer,” and “carry over.” A forum post or a policy for a different game is not proof of what will happen to your account.
Save the relevant official page and note its date and region. Recheck it near global launch, since instructions can change. If the wording is unclear, contact the publisher’s support team before spending money or investing substantial play time; keep your receipts and player ID available.
Check each kind of data separately
Do not rely on a general statement such as “progress carries over.” Look for a specific answer about each category:

- Account and progression: account data, levels, experience, unlocked content, and other progress.
- Items and currencies: earned items, purchased items, standard currency, and premium currency.
- Purchases: whether paid content or currency is retained, refunded, converted, or credited later.
- Rewards: event rewards, launch rewards, and any compensation for a reset.
A publisher may reset progression but preserve or compensate for selected purchases or rewards. For example, EA’s FIFA Mobile FIFA Points FAQ described a one-time reset before worldwide launch: clubs, items, XP, and coin balances would be wiped, while purchased FIFA Points would be credited after the player logged in. It also instructed players to reconnect the linked Facebook account to see the balance.
EA’s Apex Legends Mobile regional-launch announcement likewise said progression and unlocked items would reset, but described specific retained Battle Pass skins and rewards, converted purchase value, and the same-account login needed to claim launch rewards. These are examples of different policies, not predictions for another game.

Verify the account, region, and claim steps
Even when some data or rewards are retained, you may need to use a particular login or complete a claim process. Check whether the game ties your data to a publisher account, platform account, region, server, or guest profile. Look for the exact account required, the server or region that applies, and any deadline or steps for claiming retained assets.
Policies can preserve one category while resetting another. Gameloft’s Disney Speedstorm help-center answer addresses mobile in-app purchases after worldwide mobile release and purchases transferred when progress is imported from another platform. It does not establish that all progress transfers in every game.

Make sure the policy refers to a soft launch
“Soft launch,” “beta,” “network test,” and “demo” can describe different phases, and a publisher may set different reset rules for each. Confirm that the announcement covers the phase and region in which you played, rather than assuming a test-period policy applies to a soft launch.
For instance, Awaken: Chaos Era’s soft-launch FAQ said progress would not be reset at global launch and that the soft-launch and global-launch server would be the same. By contrast, Bandai Namco’s network-test FAQ said test play data would be reset before official service. Neither example establishes a general rule for other games.

What to do if the answer is missing or unclear
- Open the publisher’s official support or news page for the game and search the relevant reset and transfer terms.
- Record what the source says about progression, purchases, currencies, items, rewards, account requirements, and claim deadlines.
- If the page does not answer your question, ask support which data will carry over and what login or claim steps are required. Include your player ID and purchase receipts where relevant.
- Save the response and check the official source again close to global launch for updated instructions.
The examples above show that publishers have used both reset and preservation policies, with different treatment for individual assets. They do not establish how often either outcome occurs or what an unnamed game will do.
