Use Sony’s PlayStation Plus games finder to search for the exact game, identify whether it is a Monthly Game, Game Catalog title, Classics Catalog title, or trial, and match that category to the tier on the account you’ll play with. For the United States plan structure, Essential includes Monthly Games, Extra adds the Game Catalog, and Premium adds the Classics Catalog and game trials. Check again shortly before playing because catalog availability can change.
Find the game on Sony’s PlayStation Plus page
- Open Sony’s PlayStation Plus games page for your country or region. Use its game-name search and, if helpful, filters for game type, platform, genre, or age rating.
- Search the exact title. Check for edition and platform variants, then note the game-type label: Monthly Games, Game Catalog, Classics Catalog, trial, or another category such as Ubisoft+ Classics.
- Compare that category with the tier on the PlayStation account you intend to use. The US tier distinctions are summarized below.
- Open the linked PlayStation Store listing if you need to confirm the edition or platform. The Store listing and the Plus games finder answer different questions: a Plus requirement for online multiplayer does not mean the game is included in a subscription catalog.
- Check the listing again near the time you plan to play, especially if it shows an end date.
Match the listing to your subscription tier
Sony’s US plan descriptions distinguish Monthly Games from the Game Catalog and Classics Catalog. Use the category shown for the individual game rather than assuming that every title visible on the Plus page is available with every tier.

Sony’s US support comparison shows Monthly Games for all three tiers, Game Catalog access for Extra and Premium, and Classics Catalog and trials for Premium. Sony’s games page also describes downloading or streaming eligible catalog and classics titles, while trials provide limited-time access to select games. A tier’s benefits do not by themselves confirm that a particular game is currently listed.
Understand the listing before relying on access
Monthly Games are not the same as catalog games
Monthly Games can be added to a member’s library and played while the membership is active. That entitlement works differently from access to a Game Catalog or Classics Catalog title, so first identify the listing type. A game being included as a Monthly Game does not establish that it is part of the Game Catalog, or vice versa.

Catalog availability can end
Sony warns that “Game library varies over time and tier.” Some Game Catalog and Classics Catalog listings have end dates; when a title leaves the catalog, access through that catalog ends. A separately purchased copy is a distinct entitlement.
Check the account that will play
PlayStation Plus is attached to an account. Verify the tier on the account intended to play the game. Console-sharing arrangements can allow other users to access selected benefits, but they do not change which tier is attached to the subscriber’s account.

Separate game access from online multiplayer
A Store listing may say that Plus is required for online multiplayer; that is not proof that the game itself is included in a Plus catalog. Some games also do not require Plus for online play. Use the catalog listing to check subscription-game access and the Store listing to check online-play requirements.
Confirm region, edition, and play method
The tiers described here are Sony’s US labels and benefits. Catalogs and plans may differ by territory, and Sony says availability can vary. Use the local PlayStation site and ensure the listing matches the game edition and platform you have. Premium cloud streaming is limited to eligible games and supported regions or devices; Sony provides a separate Cloud Streaming Game Finder, so do not infer streaming eligibility from a catalog listing alone.
