To check DLSS support, look up the exact game in NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX games list, then confirm the options in your installed game. Check your GPU against NVIDIA’s feature compatibility table, too. “DLSS version” can mean a feature such as Frame Generation, an NVIDIA App override model or preset, or the game’s DLSS runtime library—three different things that require different checks.

What “DLSS version” can mean

DLSS is a group of features, not one switch. NVIDIA distinguishes DLSS Super Resolution, Frame Generation, Ray Reconstruction, and DLAA. A game may support one without supporting the others, so a generic “DLSS supported” label is not enough to answer which feature you can use.

  • Feature support: Which DLSS functions the game integrates, such as Super Resolution or Frame Generation.
  • Override model or preset: A supported NVIDIA App setting that can change certain DLSS behavior in a game.
  • Runtime library version: The precise DLSS library file loaded by a particular game build. NVIDIA’s public materials do not establish one universal way to identify this across games.

NVIDIA’s DLSS technology page describes the features and lists hardware compatibility by GeForce RTX series. Its news and integration information is dynamic, so check the current page for later changes.

Check whether the game supports the DLSS feature you want

  1. Search NVIDIA’s title list. Find the exact PC game in the GeForce RTX games list. Inspect the entries for the specific feature—Super Resolution, Frame Generation, Ray Reconstruction, or another listed option—not just the game name. NVIDIA’s list was last updated May 31, 2026; it advises checking the game’s own options because integrations are added regularly.
  2. Confirm in the installed game. Open its graphics or display settings and look for the feature toggle in your current build. The list is a useful index, but the setting in your installed version is the practical confirmation that it is available there.
  3. Check your GPU for that feature. Compare your GeForce RTX generation with NVIDIA’s feature compatibility table. Compatibility differs by feature: support for one DLSS function does not establish support for every other function.

When comparing two games or setups, record the feature, game and build, GPU generation, whether support is native or overridden, and—if an override is active—the selected model or preset. This avoids treating different meanings of “DLSS support” as equivalent.

Distinguish native game support from an NVIDIA App override

A game can include native DLSS support while NVIDIA App separately offers a DLSS Override for that title. An override is not proof that the game natively implements the same model or feature, so report the two states separately.

  1. Open NVIDIA App and select Graphics.
  2. Select the game, then inspect Driver Settings for available DLSS Override controls.
  3. If an override is enabled and you need to identify its active model or mode, use the NVIDIA overlay where supported. NVIDIA says the overlay can report active DLSS Override models and modes.

Overrides are available only for supported titles and may require a recent NVIDIA App and driver. NVIDIA’s NVIDIA App release highlights and its DLSS Override announcement describe the feature and per-game controls. The overlay’s model or mode information should not be presented as the exact runtime DLL version loaded by every game.

How to answer an exact “which version?” question

  • If the question is about a DLSS feature generation: Name the specific feature shown in NVIDIA’s title list and confirm it appears in the game’s current settings.
  • If it is about an NVIDIA App override: Check that game’s Driver Settings and, when available, the overlay’s active model or mode.
  • If it is about the runtime library version: Do not infer it from a feature badge or overlay label. The official NVIDIA sources do not provide a universal method for identifying the exact library loaded by every game build. Look for documentation from that game’s developer for the specific build; if it does not state the loaded library version, treat it as unconfirmed.

NVIDIA’s DLSS developer page provides developer-oriented context, but it does not change the need to distinguish a game’s integration from an App override or a runtime library version.

What to report when checking a game for someone else

A useful answer is specific enough to be reproduced: “This game lists DLSS Super Resolution; I confirmed the toggle in build [build identifier], and my GPU is [model]. NVIDIA App [does/does not] offer an override for the title.” If you cannot confirm a build or override, say so rather than extending the claim to all versions or systems.
