The most reliable way to check is to start at 100%, use the foldable as you normally would from morning to evening, and record the remaining charge, screen-on time, and activities. Repeat on several ordinary days. A single day is only a snapshot: display use, signal strength, settings, apps, and battery condition all affect the result. Android’s guidance puts it simply: “Your device’s battery life depends on the type of device you have.”
Measure a normal day on your foldable
Test the phone under the routine you actually care about—not an unusually light day, and not a day deliberately filled with high-drain tasks. Leave power-saving settings at their normal levels so the result reflects your everyday use.
- Start fully charged. Charge to 100%, unplug, and begin at the time you would typically start using the phone.
- Use it as usual. Continue through the time window that matters, such as your normal bedtime. Note whether you mostly used the cover display or unfolded the phone for the larger display.
- Record the result. At the end, write down the remaining battery percentage and, if available, screen-on time and the battery-usage breakdown.
- Note the day’s conditions. Record approximate brightness, Wi-Fi or cellular use, weak-signal travel, video, games, navigation, camera use, hotspot use, and long calls.
- Repeat on representative days. Compare similar days with similar routines. A navigation-and-camera-heavy day is not a fair comparison with a light day spent on Wi-Fi.
Google lists prolonged navigation, video, graphics-heavy games, camera use, hotspot or tethering, GPS, and calls while moving among activities that can use more power. Brightness, background activity, and connectivity can also affect drain. Its guidance does not establish a universal battery penalty for using a foldable’s inner display, so log how you use that display rather than assuming a fixed percentage cost. Check what used the battery
If your results seem unusually poor, inspect the phone’s battery-usage screen before concluding that the battery itself is at fault. An app running heavily in the background, a recent installation, or an unusual day’s workload may explain the drain.

On supported Google Pixel phones
Google documents an app-level Battery usage view and battery diagnostics for Pixel 6 and later. The exact settings path and available diagnostic features can vary by model and software version; follow the instructions for your specific Pixel on Google’s Pixel battery help page.
On other foldables
Look for Battery usage, battery health, or diagnostics in your manufacturer’s settings or support materials. Labels and features differ between brands and models. For example, the Galaxy Z Fold6 user manual documents remaining battery information and ways to limit background usage; that model-specific documentation does not establish that every Galaxy foldable has the same menus.

Allow for setup and software changes
A short test immediately after setting up a phone may not represent its settled battery life. Google says Pixel optimization can take a few weeks after setup or a factory reset. It also notes that somewhat higher drain after an update can be normal while the phone downloads and optimizes. If you recently set up or updated a Pixel, wait for that work to settle before treating a brief sample as typical; other manufacturers may handle optimization differently. Read battery claims and comparisons carefully
Figures from manufacturers and reviews answer different questions. A capacity figure in mAh describes battery capacity; it does not promise a particular number of hours for your routine. To judge whether a phone will last through your day, look for results with a stated test method and conditions, then compare those conditions with your own use.

Manufacturer estimates
Google describes Pixel foldable battery estimates using a mixed-use profile that includes talk, data, standby, Chrome browsing, audio playback, and YouTube video streaming. Its documentation also specifies lab conditions, network, timing, device status, and settings for different model families. That is a defined estimate, not a personalized guarantee. Check Google’s Pixel battery testing information for the relevant model.
Motorola’s UK Razr Fold product page lists a 6,000 mAh battery and describes all-day power. Motorola qualifies its battery-life claims as approximate estimates based on median-user mixed use under optimal network conditions. Treat that as Motorola’s claim for the UK product listing, not as an independent test result or a guarantee for every owner. Specifications and claims can vary by market; consult the page for your region at Motorola UK’s Razr Fold page.

Independent test results
When comparing reviews, check whether each uses continuous web browsing, a video loop, mixed use, or another workload. Also check brightness, network connection, starting charge, and stopping condition. A fixed-brightness web-surfing test can help compare phones tested under the same method, but it does not predict an individual owner’s exact day. Mixed-use estimates should not be treated as equivalent to continuous-use tests.

There is no single all-day threshold established for every foldable. Decide what “all day” means for your schedule, then judge the repeated results against that window: whether the phone reaches your usual bedtime with charge remaining, and whether that holds across the kinds of days you actually have.

- Match your routine: give more weight to days with comparable cover- and inner-display use, screen time, signal conditions, and demanding activities.
- Account for the phone’s state: consider recent setup or updates, battery diagnostics or health information, and background app use.
- Keep capacity and endurance separate: use mAh as a specification, not a substitute for a comparable runtime test or your own measurements.
