To check whether Spectrum service is down at your address, sign in to Spectrum.net or open the My Spectrum app and check the affected service or equipment status. For an update on a possible local outage or restoration estimate, use Spectrum support chat. Spectrum’s Storm Center is intended for storm-related outages, not a universal check for every service interruption.
Check your Spectrum account first
- Sign in to Spectrum.net or open the My Spectrum app using the account for the affected service.
- Check the service or equipment status. Spectrum’s account tools can show equipment status and offer troubleshooting or refresh options. Spectrum Community also directs customers to these account routes to check for known local service issues: Am I in an outage?
- Note what the status actually says. An account-level status is more useful for your service than a general report from elsewhere, but no status page should be treated as proof that every type of interruption will appear there.
Spectrum’s app page lists iOS 16.7 or later and Android 11 or later for its latest app experience, as of October 8, 2026. Requirements can change; check the current My Spectrum app page if you cannot install or update it.
Use Spectrum’s outage and weather information
Spectrum’s support guidance points customers to its Outage Information and Troubleshooting route for known service issues. Spectrum.net also lists “Get Weather Outage Info”; its Storm Center is specifically for storm-related outage information in an area. A storm page may help during severe weather, but it is not evidence that every non-weather network problem will be listed there.
Ask support whether your service is affected
If your account does not make the situation clear, sign in and open chat through My Spectrum or Spectrum.net. Spectrum describes chat as a source of real-time outage updates and suggests asking “Am I in an outage?” or “When will my service be restored?” You can also use Spectrum’s contact page to confirm the current support options. Any restoration time is an estimate from the provider, not a guarantee.

Set up outage notifications and contact preferences
Spectrum account-management guidance says customers can manage phone, email, and text contact preferences in their account. An older Spectrum Community walkthrough also describes subscribing to outage notifications in the app, but app menus can change. Check the current My Spectrum app and account settings rather than relying on a specific older menu path. Spectrum’s account guidance is at Spectrum Account Management.
If no outage is reported, check for an equipment issue
A lost connection can come from home equipment rather than a neighborhood outage. Spectrum notes that equipment may remain offline after an outage or maintenance. If Spectrum reports no interruption, follow its current equipment setup and troubleshooting guidance for the service and device you have. Its guide includes disconnecting power from internet equipment for at least 60 seconds before reconnecting it; this is a step for equipment troubleshooting, not a fix for an active provider outage.
