If you applied through ASBA or UPI, the application amount is usually blocked in your bank account—not paid out for a later refund. Shares allotted are debited; the balance, or the full amount if you receive no shares, is unblocked.
Where to check your IPO bid and allotment
Use an official exchange or registrar page for the specific IPO. The registrar maintains the issue’s allotment details; NSE’s verification facility shows bid information uploaded by the member or bank and allotment information supplied by the registrar.
| Route | Best for | What to enter or expect |
|---|---|---|
| NSE IPO Bid Verification | Checking exchange-uploaded bid details and registrar-supplied allotment information | Use PAN or application number. NSE says bid details are available from T+1 and remain available until 10 days after the issue closes. |
| Issue registrar’s official status page | Checking the issue-level allotment record | Inputs vary by registrar and may include the issue, PAN, application number, DP ID, and Client ID. Use the link in the IPO’s official materials or the registrar’s verified site. |
| Your submitting intermediary or broker | Investigating a missing bid or UPI mandate | Contact the member or intermediary that submitted the application. NSE directs investors to the member if a UPI mandate has not arrived. |
How to check your status
- Find the official page. Open NSE’s IPO verification facility, or locate the registrar named in the IPO’s official materials. A broker app can help locate an application, but use the exchange or registrar record to confirm it.
- Select the IPO. On the lookup page, choose the relevant issue if prompted. Registrar page labels and available fields differ.
- Enter the requested identifier. NSE accepts PAN or application number. A registrar may ask for PAN, application number, or DP ID and Client ID. For example, Integrated Registry Management Services’ IPO status page illustrates registrar-specific lookup fields.
- Read the bid and allotment separately. A bid record confirms information was uploaded; an allotment result tells you whether shares were allocated. An approved UPI mandate only authorizes a funds block—it does not confirm an allotment.
What the result means for your money
In a standard ASBA or UPI application, the money remains in your bank account while it is blocked. SEBI says the blocked amount continues to earn interest and that there is no separate refund requirement when an applicant receives no allotment. The process is therefore usually an unblocking or release, rather than a refund payment.
- No allotment: The application amount is released from the block.
- Partial allotment: The amount due for allotted shares is debited and the excess is released.
- Full allotment: The amount due for the allotted shares is debited.
SEBI describes the block and debit process in its guidance on applying through ASBA and the ASBA UPI process.

If the bid is missing or funds remain blocked
You cannot find the bid
Check the issue’s registrar page as well as the exchange verification page. NSE’s bid information depends on uploads from the member or bank, so a missing entry is a reason to contact the intermediary that submitted your application. For questions about the allotment record, contact the issue registrar. NSE’s e-IPO FAQs direct investors with blocked funds but no allotment information to the registrar.
Your UPI mandate has not arrived
Check the UPI app or its transaction status, then contact the member or intermediary through which you applied. NSE identifies that member as the contact for a missing mandate. Do not treat the absence of a mandate as an allotment result.
Rank #2
The allotment result says funds should be released, but your bank still shows a block
First verify the result with the registrar. Then contact the bank or SCSB for an ASBA block, or the UPI app/provider for a UPI mandate, and also notify the submitting intermediary. Provide the IPO name and your application number or other application reference; share PAN or demat details only through the institution’s official support channel. General SEBI and NSE guidance does not establish one universal resolution deadline for an individual blocked-funds case.
Quick Recap
Protect your application details
- Use the registrar named for that IPO or the official exchange page, not an unofficial status aggregator as your confirmation source.
- Enter PAN, application number, DP ID, and Client ID only on official exchange or registrar pages.
- Check the live issue instructions for current links and process details, since interfaces and issue-specific information can change.
