First identify whether you’re dealing with one unwanted event or invitation, or a whole unfamiliar calendar. Delete or report an individual event; unsubscribe from or delete a calendar that is adding a stream of entries. A strange event by itself does not prove that anyone accessed your Apple Account.
Check whether the problem is one event or an entire calendar
Open Calendar’s calendar list and look for a calendar you don’t recognize. If only one event or invitation is suspicious, use the event-level removal or reporting option. If many unwanted entries appear together under a separate calendar, remove that calendar or unsubscribe from it.
If events only look duplicated, check which calendars are selected for display and whether a contact card is duplicated before deleting anything. Apple recommends those checks for duplicate events in its iCloud Calendar duplicate-events guidance.
Remove or report one unwanted event
On iPhone with iOS 26 or later
- Open Calendar and tap the unwanted event.
- Tap Delete Event and confirm. If the invitation is from an unknown contact and qualifies as junk, choose Report Junk, then tap Delete and Report Junk.
Apple’s current iPhone instructions specify iOS 26 or later; see Apple’s event and calendar removal steps if your screen or software version differs.

On iCloud.com
Use a tablet or computer, sign in at iCloud.com/calendar, open the junk invitation, and select Report Junk. Apple says reporting it also deletes the event from calendars on devices signed in to the same Apple Account. iCloud.com Calendar requires a tablet or computer. On Mac
For an unwanted invitation from an unknown sender, use Calendar’s Report Junk option. Apple also documents reporting junk calendar subscriptions. The exact controls can vary with macOS; follow Apple’s current Calendar sharing and reporting guidance for your version.

Don’t reply to a suspicious invitation just to make it go away. Use the documented report option when it qualifies as junk.
Unsubscribe from or hide an unfamiliar calendar
On iPhone
- Open Calendar and tap Calendars.
- Tap the information button next to the unfamiliar calendar.
- Choose Delete Calendar or Unsubscribe, then confirm.
If the calendar can’t be removed, deselect it in the calendar list to hide its events. Hiding changes what you see; it does not remove the calendar or stop it from receiving updates.

On Mac
In Calendar’s calendar list, use Unsubscribe for an unwanted subscribed calendar. Apple notes that a junk subscription can also be reported. If the calendar is shared rather than subscribed, check the sharing controls before changing access: stopping or changing sharing may notify participants. Apple’s sharing guide describes the relevant controls.

Before deleting an event you own, consider that invitees or shared-calendar participants may be notified. On iCloud.com, deleting a recurring event offers a choice between deleting only that occurrence and deleting all future occurrences. If you were invited to an event, declining it may be the appropriate action instead. Apple explains these options in its iCloud.com event deletion guide.

Protect your account if you entered information on a suspicious site
Don’t follow unexpected links or share your password or security codes in response to an invitation or message. Apple advises: “If you’re suspicious about an unexpected message, call or request for personal information, such as your email address, phone number, password, security code or money, it’s safer to presume that it’s a scam – contact that company directly if you need to.” Read Apple’s guidance on recognizing social engineering and scams.
If you entered your Apple Account password or other personal information on a scam site, change the password immediately and make sure two-factor authentication is enabled. If you only received or removed a spam event and disclosed no credentials, that alone does not establish account compromise; reporting or removing the event may be all that is needed.
