Check your seller’s deadline first, then test every part of the phone in one sitting: body, screen, touch, cameras, audio, vibration, biometrics, charging and connectivity. Record anything that fails, with dates, and report it to the seller before the window closes. The sections below give the order to work in and what to do if something is wrong.
Step 1: Find your actual deadline
There is no universal Realme return window. The deadline depends on your country, the seller, the sales channel (official website, retail store or marketplace) and the purchase date. Look in these places:
- The order page and invoice, for the delivery date and seller name.
- The seller’s return or replacement terms, which may be stricter than the manufacturer’s.
- Realme’s policy page for your country.
As one example, Realme India’s 2024 warranty policy (page updated 9 December 2024) lists a 10-day replacement period for manufacturing defects on mobile, AIoT and tablet products. It covers purchases from realme.com, offline retail stores and e-commerce, and applies only to products sold in India. It is not a global promise and does not override the seller’s own process. Its separate 12-month handset and built-in battery warranty is not a return window. Coverage is conditional, and the policy lists exclusions such as human-caused damage.
Realme’s Europe FAQ shows how much this varies. It says warranty status can depend on the activation time, that service follows local conditions, and that returns have restrictions. Do not assume the India or Europe wording applies to your purchase.

Step 2: Inspect before you set up the phone
This checklist is practical advice, not a Realme-mandated procedure.
- Photograph the box and its labels. Confirm that the model, storage, RAM and color match your order.
- Look for dents, cracks, scratches, a loose or misaligned frame, wobbly buttons and damaged camera glass.
- Keep the box, accessories and proof of purchase. Realme India’s FAQ says to bring valid purchase proof and the original box to a service center.
Step 3: Test the phone, one area at a time
Display and touch
- Show plain white, black and other solid-color images (full-screen photos work). Look for spots, lines, flicker, tinting or uneven patches.
- Drag a finger across the whole screen, including the edges and corners. Type in a note app to check touch response.
- Use normal brightness and room lighting. A screen quirk seen once is not proof of a hardware fault, so see whether it repeats.
Buttons, vibration and biometrics
- Press the power and volume keys and check each one responds.
- Trigger vibration, for example through keyboard haptics or a ringer test.
- Enroll a fingerprint or face unlock, only if your model has one, and unlock repeatedly.
Cameras
- Take photos with every rear and front camera, and switch lenses.
- Check focus on near and far subjects, then test the flash.
- Record a short video and play it back with sound.
Microphones and speakers
- Record a voice memo and play it back, to test the microphone and loudspeaker.
- Make a test call, or play audio, to check the earpiece.
- Listen for crackling, distortion or a channel that is much quieter.
Charging
- Connect the supplied charger and cable. Confirm charging starts and stays stable, with no repeated disconnects.
- Note any unusual heat. No official charging-time or battery-health threshold is published in the material reviewed here, so judge by stability and by comparison with the specs on your box.
Connectivity
- Join Wi-Fi and browse or stream for a few minutes.
- If you use a SIM, check signal, calls, texts and mobile data.
- Pair a Bluetooth device and check that location services find you.
Step 4: Look for built-in diagnostics
Some Realme phones include a manual diagnostic tool. Realme’s ColorOS 6 manual, which is historical, lists test categories for sensors, connections, battery and charging, physical keys, screen, camera, audio and vibration. Menus and coverage differ by model and software version, so there is no guaranteed path on a current phone. Try searching Settings for “diagnostics” or “test”, or look in Phone Manager or the support area. If you find nothing, the manual checks above cover the same ground.

Step 5: If something fails
- Reproduce it, then note what happened, when, and under what conditions.
- Take photos or a video that show the fault and, ideally, the screen with the date.
- Contact the seller through its documented channel before the deadline. Ask whether it needs photos or video, a service-center diagnosis, or a claim number.
- Keep the box, accessories, invoice and order record until the case is resolved.
Realme says it may run diagnostic tests to identify the cause of a failure or defect, so expect a service center to verify the problem. Avoid installing unofficial repair tools or opening the phone, because this can complicate a claim.
