To use Apple Music in another country or region, change the Country/Region setting on the Apple Account used for Media & Purchases. Before you do, clear any balance and pending activity, resolve subscriptions that block the change, check Family Sharing, and download content you may need: Apple warns that availability can differ in the destination region.
Before changing your Apple Account region
Apple may prevent a region change until certain account matters are resolved. Check these items first:

- Spend your Apple Account balance. Apple says to spend the remaining balance before updating your location. If it is too small to buy even one item, contact Apple Support to clear it.
- Resolve subscriptions that block the change. Cancel the affected subscriptions and wait until their current periods end. Apple does not say that every subscription must always be canceled.
- Wait for pending activity to finish. Memberships, pre-orders, movie rentals, Season Passes, and pending refunds may need to complete or process before you can change regions.
- Check Family Sharing. Membership in a Family Sharing group may prevent the change. If that applies, follow Apple’s instructions for leaving a Family Sharing group.
- Check payment requirements for the destination. Apple may ask for a valid payment method and billing address in the new region. Accepted methods vary by country or region and can change; consult Apple’s current payment-method list.
- Download content you may need. Apple recommends redownloading music and other media before switching because some content may not be available in the destination region.
Change the country or region on your device
Use the route that matches the device you have. Apple’s country or region change instructions may show slightly different confirmation screens or button labels, so follow the prompts presented to you.
iPhone, iPad, or Apple Vision Pro
- Open Settings and tap your name.
- Tap Media & Purchases, then View Account if that option appears. Sign in if prompted.
- Tap Country/Region and select the destination country or region.
- Review and accept the terms and conditions.
- Enter a payment method and billing address if requested, then complete the on-screen steps.
Mac
- Open Apple Music or Apple TV.
- In the menu bar, choose Account, then Account Settings.
- Choose Country/Region and select the destination.
- Accept the terms and provide payment information and a billing address if asked.
Windows PC
- Open Apple Music or Apple TV.
- Select your account name at the bottom of the sidebar, then choose View My Account.
- Choose Change Country or Region and select the destination.
- Accept the terms and enter requested payment details and billing address.
Apple’s Apple Music for Windows guide confirms that Country/Region is in account settings and that account changes apply across apps using the same Apple Account.

Web
- Sign in at account.apple.com.
- Open Personal Information, then select Country/Region.
- Follow the on-screen instructions. A valid payment method for the new region may be required.
What changes for Apple Music and your library
Apple Media Services and media availability vary by country or region. Check the destination in Apple’s availability list rather than assuming a particular album, subscription, feature, or other content will be available there.
Downloading content beforehand can help if you need it offline, but it does not guarantee that every item will remain available after the change. Apple does not promise that every track or playlist will carry over unchanged. For Sync Library, make sure your devices are signed in with the same Apple Account used for your Apple Music subscription; Apple notes that Apple Music availability varies by country and region.

Payment and account options
There is no single payment method that works for every destination. If Apple requests payment details, check the current accepted methods for that specific country or region and use a method and billing address that meet its requirements.

This is an alternative Apple describes, not a way to bypass regional restrictions. Apple also says services such as Apple One or iCloud+ may be resubscribed in the new location if available there; check the effects of canceling those plans before making changes.

If you cannot change the region
Review the likely blockers in this order:
- Confirm that subscriptions which block a change have been canceled and their current periods have ended.
- Spend the remaining account balance, or contact Apple Support if the remainder is less than the cost of one item.
- Wait for memberships, pre-orders, rentals, Season Passes, and refunds to settle.
- Check whether Family Sharing membership is preventing the change.
- Verify that any requested payment method and billing address meet the destination region’s current requirements.
If the account still will not let you proceed, Apple Support can check the specific account state and explain the blocker.
