To enlarge or shrink text and interface elements on a Google Pixel, go to Settings > Display & touch > Display size and text. Use Font size to change words and Display size to change other on-screen items. These controls do not change the screen’s pixel resolution.
Change font size or display size
- Open the Settings app.
- Tap Display & touch.
- Tap Display size and text.
- Under Font size, move the slider to make words larger or smaller.
- Under Display size, move the slider to make interface items larger or smaller.
Google describes the latter control as a way to “Make the items on your screen smaller or larger.” The two sliders affect different things: changing font size adjusts words, while display size adjusts other screen items. The labels or available options may vary by Pixel model and software version; Google’s Pixel display settings guide notes that additional settings may appear under Advanced.
Make the phone easier to see and use with Simple View
For a broader, simpler layout rather than only larger text, Google offers Simple View. It can enlarge text and icons, simplify the Home screen, switch to three-button navigation, and increase touch sensitivity.

Can you change screen resolution on a Pixel?
Screen resolution means the display’s pixel dimensions. It is different from font size and display size, which scale text and interface elements. Google’s general Pixel display instructions document the two size sliders but do not give a procedure for changing resolution across Pixel phones. That does not establish that every model lacks a resolution option; whether one is available and where to find it depends on the specific Pixel and its Android version. Check device-specific guidance before looking for or changing a resolution setting.
