Capture the page while it is displaying the intended language, then check the rendered characters against the screenshot. Use OCR only for words embedded in images or scanned documents; selectable webpage text should be extracted as page text. VisualScraper’s current interface and language-specific controls could not be verified, so the steps below avoid assuming particular menus or script-support claims.
Capture the page in the language you need
- Open a representative page in the site’s intended regional-language version. Select the language or locale on the site itself, if needed.
- Record the exact URL and how you selected the language or locale. This makes the capture repeatable and helps distinguish a language-version issue from a capture issue.
- Capture the page in its rendered state with VisualScraper, using the capture workflow available in your version. Preserve the original screenshot or export along with any extracted text, where possible.
- Inspect representative text in the capture before processing a larger set of pages.
There is not enough verified, current first-party VisualScraper documentation here to name exact interface paths, language settings, or script support. Confirm the product identity and version against its own current documentation before relying on any product-specific controls.
Check that the characters survived capture
Compare the captured page with what the browser displayed. Include examples with diacritics, combining marks and language-specific punctuation; if the language uses right-to-left text, inspect direction and layout as well as individual characters.
If text looks garbled, first determine where it went wrong. If the screenshot itself is corrupted, investigate whether the page rendered correctly. If the screenshot looks right but extracted text does not, investigate text extraction or OCR instead. A screenshot alongside the extracted text gives you an original reference for this check.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Decide whether you need OCR
- Text is selectable webpage content: use ordinary page-text extraction. OCR is generally unnecessary for text that exists as page text.
- Text is baked into an image, video frame or scanned document: use OCR, then validate the recognized text against the captured image.
Ui.Vision documents screenshot-based OCR for screen scraping, including language configuration and local and API-based OCR paths. Its documentation says, “Optical Character Recognition (OCR) works on screenshots of the rendered web page.” That describes Ui.Vision’s approach, not a VisualScraper feature. Google Cloud Vision documents TEXT_DETECTION for text in images and DOCUMENT_TEXT_DETECTION for dense document content, as well as regional processing options for OCR. These are relevant when the words are in images or document scans; the documentation does not establish a VisualScraper integration. Google Cloud Vision OCR documentation.

Validate OCR before relying on it
- Choose a representative image or scanned page in the language and script you need.
- Run OCR using a tool whose documented language configuration or processing options suit that content.
- Compare the output against the source image, paying close attention to diacritics, combining marks, punctuation, reading order and right-to-left layout where applicable.
- Correct errors and test additional representative samples before treating the output as dependable.
The cited OCR documentation does not establish accuracy for every regional language or script. Do not assume equal performance across languages without checking real examples.
Common problems and what to check
| Symptom | What to check | Next step |
|---|---|---|
| The capture is in the wrong language. | Whether the site was showing the intended language version and whether the correct URL or locale was used. | Set the language on the site, record the URL and locale selection, then capture again. |
| Characters are garbled in extracted text. | Whether the screenshot itself looks correct. | If the image is correct, investigate the text extraction or OCR step; if not, investigate page rendering before changing extraction settings. |
| OCR misses or changes characters. | The original image, script, marks, punctuation and layout. | Compare against the image, correct the output and test a representative sample. Do not infer universal language support from a successful result on one page. |
| You cannot find a VisualScraper language option. | The product identity and the current version’s own documentation. | Do not assume another tool’s OCR or language controls exist in VisualScraper. |

ScreenshotNeo is a website screenshot API: a GET request with a URL can return a PNG, JPEG, WebP or PDF. It removes known consent banners, newsletter popups and chat widgets before capture; each cleanup step can be turned off. Only clean shots are billed: bot checks or CAPTCHAs, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads and cache hits cost nothing, and response headers report the page verdict and billing status. Its MCP server lets AI agents use take_screenshot, get_page_info and capture_pdf. The free plan includes 1,000 shots a month with no card; paid plans start at $5 for 3,000 shots. These are screenshot features, not a claim of OCR or regional-language text extraction. See ScreenshotNeo.
For a rendered-page screenshot, make one request with the target URL and your API key. The following cURL example saves a WebP image; replace the URL with the page you want to capture. See the ScreenshotNeo API documentation.
