Use Playwright’s full-page screenshot option to capture the entire scrollable career-app page, including content below the fold. For repeatable visual QA, hold the browser, viewport, device scale, route, and test data constant; wait for meaningful content to load; and use synthetic or masked application data before sharing the image.
Choose the capture scope that matches the bug

Prepare a repeatable and safe test state
- Open the intended career-app route with a known test account and deterministic data. Prefer synthetic applicant and application records.
- Record the browser and version, viewport dimensions, device scale, route, and test-state identifier. Keep them the same between the baseline and later captures.
- Wait for the content under review, plus any required fonts and images, to be ready. Handle predictable consent banners or dialogs explicitly in the test flow; do not assume a generic overlay handler will produce the intended state.
- Decide whether the test should include an overlay. If consent UI is part of the design being reviewed, capture it deliberately; otherwise dismiss it in a predictable way.
Career and application screens may contain personal information. Inspect the image before attaching it to a ticket or chat. Mask sensitive fields if they are irrelevant to the layout question, while ensuring the mask does not cover the region being evaluated.
Capture a full-page screenshot with Playwright

PNG is a straightforward lossless choice for visual inspection; choose another format if your storage or review workflow calls for it. The full-page option captures a tall rendering of the document, not browser chrome, and it does not replace separate captures of interactive states.
Stabilize visual comparisons
For maintained visual baselines, Playwright’s test-runner screenshot assertion waits for two consecutive page screenshots to produce the same result before comparing with the expectation. It also supports disabling animations and masking selected locators. See PageAssertions.

- Keep route, test data, viewport, browser version, and device scale consistent.
- Disable animations for comparisons where motion would make the image vary. Playwright documents that finite animations are fast-forwarded and infinite animations are cancelled to their initial state during capture, then resumed.
- Mask only data that is not part of the visual question. Screenshot masks cover the selected locator’s bounding box; the documented default mask color is pink (
#FF00FF). - Use a viewport or locator capture in addition to the full-page artifact when the issue is tied to interaction or a specific component.
Choose output scale and format deliberately
Playwright’s screenshot scale setting can produce output at CSS-pixel or device-pixel scale. CSS scale gives one output pixel per CSS pixel; device scale records device pixels and can create larger files on high-DPI displays. Keep the scale stable across compared captures. Troubleshoot common capture problems
The image stops at the viewport
Enable full-page capture: use fullPage: true in JavaScript or full_page=True in Python. Without it, the screenshot covers only the visible viewport.

Content is missing or inconsistent
Wait for the app-specific content and required assets before capturing. Confirm that the intended route and test records loaded, and handle predictable dialogs explicitly so they do not obscure the page unexpectedly.
Baseline comparisons differ between runs
Check that browser version, viewport, device scale, route, and test data match. Consider Playwright’s screenshot assertion, animation control, and locator masking for repeatability.

The screenshot is too large or the browser page crashes
Very long or complex pages can put pressure on browser resources; Playwright notes that a page can crash if it tries to allocate too much memory. A device-pixel-scale image may also be larger than a CSS-pixel-scale image. Keep the scale consistent and consider capturing the relevant locator or viewport when full-document coverage is not necessary.
Personal data appears in the artifact
Use synthetic records where possible. Otherwise, inspect the screenshot before sharing and mask fields that are not needed for the QA task, taking care not to conceal the layout under review.

Does a full-page screenshot include browser tabs and address bar?
No. It captures the rendered page, not the browser chrome.
Can I use a full-page image to verify a hover or focus defect?
Not by itself. Capture the relevant interactive state at its viewport as well.
