To inspect a website as it runs in Chrome on an actual Android phone, connect the phone to a computer by USB, enable USB debugging, then open the phone’s tab from desktop Chrome at chrome://inspect/#devices. This lets you inspect the live page, but it is different from using DevTools Device Mode to simulate a phone on your computer. Choose the phone’s own screenshot control for an image of its physical screen; use Device Mode’s screenshot commands for an emulated mobile-page capture.
Choose the capture that matches your goal
| What you need | Use this method | What the image represents |
|---|---|---|
| The page as it appears on your actual Android phone | Take a screenshot on the phone, or remotely inspect its live Chrome tab and check the available capture actions in the current DevTools interface. | The physical device and browser combination. A phone screenshot may include browser or device interface elements. |
| A mobile-sized page capture made on your computer | Chrome DevTools Device Mode: choose More options > Capture screenshot, or Capture a full size screenshot. | An emulated mobile viewport or page, not proof of how the site renders on your physical phone. |
| A selected portion of a page in DevTools | Open the Command Menu, search for “screenshot,” and select Capture area screenshot. | The area you select in the DevTools page view. DevTools must be docked. |
Chrome’s documentation describes remote Android inspection and Device Mode screenshots as separate workflows. It does not establish that Device Mode’s screenshot commands capture a remotely connected Android target. For an actual-device result, take the screenshot on the phone unless the current remote-inspection interface offers a capture action suitable for your needs.
Connect the Android phone to desktop Chrome
Google documents remote debugging from Windows, Mac, and Linux computers. You need Chrome on the computer, Chrome on the phone, and a USB cable that fits both devices and supports data—not only charging.
- Enable Developer Options and USB debugging on Android. Android’s settings labels and the steps for enabling Developer Options vary by device and version; find Developer Options in Settings, then turn on USB debugging.
- Open the device inspector on the computer. In desktop Chrome, go to chrome://inspect/#devices.
- Enable device discovery. Make sure Discover USB devices is checked on the page.
- Connect the phone directly to the computer. Use a compatible data-capable USB cable. A direct connection is preferable to a USB hub when diagnosing detection problems.
- Authorize the computer on the phone. If Android displays a USB debugging authorization prompt, accept it. Without authorization, the computer may not be allowed to inspect the device.
- Open the target page in Chrome on the phone. Keep the tab open while you inspect it.
- Inspect the live tab. Find the phone and its Chrome tab in the device list, then select Inspect next to that tab. DevTools opens for the page running on the phone.
The DevTools instance is tied to the Chrome version on the phone, so its interface can differ if the phone’s browser is old.

- 【Strong Adsorption】The inspiration of the silicone phone suction case comes from the adhesive force of the octopus. Each suction cup phone mount is 3.15 inches long and 2.17 inches wide, with 24 independent suction cups providing a stronger and more stable suction force, so you don't have to worry about your phone falling during use.
- 【Back of Phone Suction Grip】Remove the adhesive film on the phone suction cup and stick it on the phone case. You can then fix the phone on any smooth surface, which is very convenient. (The phone suction cup cannot be removed and reused after being attached to the phone case. It is recommended to attach it to a regular phone case, not a valuable one.)
- 【Widely Used】Our non-slip silicone phone sticky grip mount attaches to almost any flat phone case and make it compatible with common mobile phones such as iPhone and Android. You can shoot, watch videos or video calls in the kitchen, gym, dance studio, bathroom and other places.
- 【Capture the Wonderful Picture】Whether you are a TikTok creator or just like to share videos and photos, this phone suction cup can help you hands-free capture wonderful videos and photos for sharing with friends.
- 【Note】You can fix the phone suction cup on a smooth surface such as a mirror or glass. If necessary, wipe the suction cup with a damp cloth to obtain stronger suction. Before releasing your hand, make sure the phone is firmly fixed. (Not applicable to rough walls, wooden surfaces, and other uneven surfaces)
Capture a screenshot of the real phone
If the requirement is to show the actual screen, use Android’s built-in screenshot control on the phone. The exact gesture or button combination depends on the device; Chrome’s reviewed documentation does not specify a universal key sequence. Depending on how Android takes the capture, the image can include the browser and device interface as well as the website.
Remote debugging gives you DevTools access to the live tab, which is useful for examining the page while it runs on the phone. However, the documented Device Mode capture commands below are for desktop emulation. Do not assume they will produce a screenshot of the physical phone or its screen.

- SUPERIOR COMFORT — Unlike traditional circular ear buds, the design of EarPods is defined by the geometry of the ear. Which makes them more comfortable for more people than any other ear bud–style headphones.
- HIGH-QUALITY AUDIO — The speakers inside EarPods have been engineered to maximize sound output and minimize sound loss, which means you get high-quality audio.
- BUILT-IN REMOTE — EarPods with USB-C plug also include a built-in remote that lets you adjust the volume, control the playback of music and video, and answer or end calls with a pinch of the cord.
- COMPATIBILITY — Works with all devices that have a USB-C port.
- INTEGRATED MICROPHONE — A built-in microphone precisely captures your voice while you’re on the phone, taking a FaceTime call, or summoning Siri — so you’re always heard loud and clear.
Capture an emulated mobile page in desktop DevTools
Use this workflow when a controlled mobile-sized page image is sufficient and you do not need it to represent a real Android device. In desktop Chrome DevTools, turn on Device Mode and select the viewport or device preset you want to emulate.
Capture the visible viewport
- Open DevTools for the page on your computer and enable Device Mode.
- Set the desired emulated device or viewport.
- Open More options > Capture screenshot.
This captures the visible emulated viewport, not the entire page.

Capture a selected area
- Open the Command Menu with
Ctrl+Shift+Pon Windows or Linux, orCmd+Shift+Pon Mac. - Type
screenshotand select Capture area screenshot. - Drag across the page area to capture.

When to use real-device testing instead of Device Mode
Device Mode is useful for producing a repeatable mobile viewport screenshot, but it simulates a mobile environment on desktop Chrome. It cannot reproduce every aspect of a mobile device. If the screenshot must show the page as rendered by a particular Android phone and browser, inspect that live tab through remote debugging and capture on the phone. Google advises testing on an actual device when in doubt.
Troubleshoot a phone that does not appear
- Check USB debugging. Confirm it is enabled in Android Developer Options.
- Check discovery in Chrome. On
chrome://inspect/#devices, make sure Discover USB devices is enabled. - Look for the phone’s authorization prompt. Unlock the phone and accept the USB debugging request if it appears.
- Try a direct USB connection. Google recommends connecting directly to the computer rather than through a hub when the device is not detected. Also verify that the cable supports data and that its connector fits both devices.
- Try the Android USB mode option. Google’s troubleshooting guidance lists changing the USB mode to PTP as a possible remedy in some cases.
- Revoke existing USB debugging authorizations if needed. The official guide also lists revoking authorizations as a troubleshooting option; reconnect and authorize the computer again.
- Account for browser version differences. The remote DevTools interface reflects the Chrome version installed on the phone, so an older version may not look like current desktop instructions.
Or skip the browser setup
If you need a website image rather than a capture from a particular physical phone, ScreenshotNeo can return a screenshot or PDF from one GET request. It is not a substitute for verifying a site on actual Android hardware.
