The exact cancellation route depends on your billing provider; Max publishes specific instructions, while the Paramount+ support material available here does not establish its current cancellation steps or cutoff.
Before switching, find out who bills your subscription
Start with the service you plan to cancel, not the app you use to watch it. The biller may be the streaming service itself, an app store, a device platform, or an internet, mobile, or TV provider. Cancelling with the wrong company may leave the subscription active.
- Check the service’s account or subscription page for the billing provider.
- If it is unclear, review the charge description on your bank or card statement and check subscriptions managed through your app store, carrier, or TV provider.
- Cancel through the company identified as the biller, then record the confirmation and the stated expiration date or next billing date.
For Max, the billing provider appears at the top of Max’s subscription management screen. You can check at max.com/subscription or in the app’s profile or Subscription area; on a TV, look in Settings for Subscription. The provider determines where cancellation must happen.
How to cancel Max
If Max bills you directly
- Go to max.com/subscription and sign in, or open Max and go to the profile’s Subscription screen.
- If the page identifies Max/WarnerMedia as the biller and offers the cancellation control, select “Cancel Your Subscription” and confirm.
- Write down the expiration date and keep the confirmation email or a screenshot. Max says access continues until the subscription expires at the end of the billing period.
Max subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. Its cancellation guidance says to cancel before the next billing date to avoid another charge: Max’s cancellation instructions.

If another company bills you
Cancel with the provider shown in your Max account, using that company’s subscription settings or support. Max lists Apple, Google Play, Roku, Samsung TV, Amazon Appstore, Prime Video Channels, and internet, mobile, or TV providers as possible billing routes. Availability varies by country: Max’s help page lists Amazon Appstore in Brazil and Mexico, and Prime Video Channels in Brazil, Colombia, and Mexico. See Max’s provider-specific management guidance.
Allow time for the provider’s cutoff
Max warns that some providers may require cancellation at least 24 hours before the next billing period. That is a conditional provider rule, not a universal deadline. Check the rule for the company that bills you and cancel well before renewal where possible: Max’s cancellation guidance.

How to approach Paramount+ cancellation
The official Paramount+ support material cited here does not establish the current cancellation sequence, a provider list, or a cutoff for avoiding the next charge. Do not assume Max’s buttons, provider options, or 24-hour warning apply to Paramount+.
- Sign in to your Paramount+ account and check the account or subscription details for who bills you. Start at the Paramount+ sign-in page.
- If the service identifies Paramount+ as the biller and shows a cancellation control, follow the on-screen instructions and save the confirmation and effective date.
- If a third party bills you, use that provider’s account or support channel to end the subscription, then ask it to confirm when billing stops.
Paramount+’s support home lists account and billing topics, and its sign-in page provides a connection path for subscribers receiving service through an internet, mobile, or TV provider. Neither cited page supplies a definitive cancellation walkthrough. The available Paramount+ LG TV support article, published September 9, 2025, addresses changing plans and notes that plan changes cannot be made directly on an LG TV; it does not explain cancellation. How to avoid paying for both services during a switch
- Check the existing subscription’s biller and next renewal date before signing up for a replacement service or bundle.
- Cancel the old subscription directly with its biller; do not treat a new sign-up as a transfer or cancellation.
- Save the cancellation confirmation and the stated last day of access.
- After cancelling, check the account again to verify its status and keep an eye on the next statement for a charge that needs follow-up.
This workflow is especially important when a subscription is managed by a carrier, app store, or other third party: the service account may not control that provider’s billing.

Max’s help page identifies several possible explanations for a charge after cancellation: cancellation too close to renewal, an account that remains active, more than one account or subscription, or an annual plan still within its paid term. Check the account and the biller before assuming the charge is an error. The page also says that, for annual subscriptions billed directly through WarnerMedia, monthly charges continue until the annual subscription expires and partial-year refunds or credits are not provided. Those details are specific to the billing context described on the Max unexpected-charge page; confirm the terms for your provider and plan.
