1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsUrlbox’s bulk workflow is to discover the pages first, then submit a separate render for each URL—not capture an entire site in one native request. For a small URL list, use CaptureDeck or a script; for a CSV, the CLI can save screenshots locally. For a large site, batch the work, limit concurrency, and plan where the files will live.
How Urlbox bulk capture works
Urlbox’s bulk website screenshots guide says it does not natively capture an entire website in a single request. Instead, the workflow has two parts: discover the URLs you want, then submit a render for each page. Your URL list can come from a sitemap, a CSV, or another source you maintain.
Find the website URLs to capture
Start with the XML sitemap
Check whether the site publishes an XML sitemap, often at /sitemap.xml. A sitemap can list pages directly or point to other sitemaps. Urlbox’s guide uses the JavaScript package sitemapper, which it says supports nested sitemap indexes. Review the extracted URLs before rendering: a sitemap may include pages you do not need, and it does not guarantee every URL is suitable for capture.
When there is no sitemap
Some sites do not publish a sitemap. Check robots.txt, the site footer, or its help pages for sitemap references or page listings. If those sources do not provide the needed URLs, use an existing URL inventory or assemble the list manually. The capture workflow can only render URLs you supply.

Choose a Urlbox workflow
| Workflow | Best suited to | Output and control | Scale consideration |
|---|---|---|---|
| CaptureDeck | A URL list and a no-code workflow | Create a Deck, paste the URLs, run captures, and view or download the organized screenshots as a ZIP. The guide describes social, full-page, and mobile presets. | Convenient for list-based work; for very large sets, batch captures rather than treating one run as unlimited. |
| Urlbox API script | An application or custom processing pipeline | Submit each URL with render options. The API documents synchronous and asynchronous workflows. | Use batches and bounded concurrency for large lists; account for both Urlbox capacity and load on the target website. |
| Urlbox CLI with CSV | A CSV of URLs and local image files | Loop over CSV rows and save a full-page PNG for each URL. | A simple loop is sequential. Urlbox’s CLI documentation recommends asynchronous rendering for very long lists. |
Render a URL list with the Urlbox API
Urlbox’s bulk-guide JavaScript example maps URLs to requests at /v1/render/sync, setting full_page: true and format: 'png'. A simple Promise.all pattern is suitable only for a modest list: it starts all requests together, so do not use it unbounded for thousands of pages. Use a bounded queue or the asynchronous endpoint for larger jobs.
The API accepts either url or html as required input, with options sent as JSON or form data. Authentication depends on the API flow: the POST render documentation describes HTTP Basic authentication using the secret key as the username, while the current API reference and quickstart also document a Bearer secret in the Authorization header and the /v1/render/sync and /v1/render/async endpoints. Follow the instructions for the endpoint you use, and keep the secret key on a server or in a secure environment variable—not in browser-side code.
For each page, save or process the render result before moving on. Urlbox’s quickstart says render URLs expire after 30 days; download the image or arrange storage in a cloud bucket if you need it longer. See the Urlbox API documentation and quickstart for the relevant request and response details.

Capture a CSV locally with the Urlbox CLI
For a developer who already has a CSV and wants files on disk, Urlbox’s CLI documentation shows a shell loop that renders each row as a full-page PNG. Use the CLI’s documented render flags and adapt the input and output paths to your CSV. A sequential loop is easy to understand, but takes one render at a time; for a very long list, use the CLI’s asynchronous approach as its documentation recommends. Check the installed CLI’s help and the documentation for the exact flags supported by your version.
Set full-page behavior and output format
Stitch mode versus native mode
Set full_page to true to capture beyond the initial viewport. Urlbox’s full-page documentation describes stitch as the default mode: it scrolls the page to trigger lazy-loaded content and animations, freezes fixed or sticky elements, captures sections, and stitches them together. The documentation says this mode favors accuracy. Its native mode uses the browser’s native full-page screenshot facility and is faster, but may work less well on some pages. See Urlbox’s full-page screenshot documentation.
Scrolling, width, and image dimensions
skip_scrolldisables the initial scroll and may reduce render time, but can prevent lazy-loaded content from appearing.full_widthcan include a horizontally scrolling page’s full width.- Urlbox documents maximum image dimensions of 65,535 × 65,535 pixels for JPEG and 16,383 × 16,383 pixels for WebP. Its screenshot guide recommends PNG for full-page captures when image-size limits matter.
For unusually long or wide pages, consider the output dimensions before launching a large job. A successful render may still be impractical to store or process if the resulting image is very large.
Plan batches, concurrency, and storage
- Batch large URL sets. Urlbox’s guide advises batching and calls out sites with 1,000 or more pages as a case for spacing requests. This is vendor guidance, not a guaranteed throughput limit or independently measured performance result.
- Bound concurrent requests. Avoid launching thousands of simultaneous captures. A queue lets you control request volume and retry individual failures without restarting the whole list.
- Be considerate of the target site. Excessive concurrency can create avoidable load for the website being captured. Space batches, particularly for very large sites.
- Choose storage before rendering. Local files work for smaller runs; Urlbox’s guide suggests cloud storage such as S3 for large sets. Use predictable names or a manifest that maps each URL to its output file.
- Preserve outputs you need. Because the quickstart says render URLs expire after 30 days, download the images or save them to persistent storage before that period ends.
Common problems and fixes
The capture list is incomplete
A sitemap may be absent, may use nested indexes, or may not contain every page you expected. Check the sitemap’s referenced child files, then look at robots.txt, the footer, or help pages. If no suitable listing exists, provide URLs from another inventory or collect them manually.

Lazy-loaded sections are missing
Confirm that full-page capture is enabled and that skip_scroll is not suppressing the initial scroll. Urlbox’s stitch mode scrolls the page to trigger lazy-loaded content; native mode is faster but may be less accurate on some pages.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
Some pages fail in a large run
Do not fire the entire list through an unbounded Promise.all. Reduce concurrency, submit smaller batches, and isolate failures so you can retry only the affected URLs. For long jobs, use an asynchronous workflow rather than waiting synchronously for every render.
A render link no longer works
Urlbox’s quickstart states that render URLs expire after 30 days. Download the screenshot when the job completes or configure persistent cloud storage for the output.

The full-page image is clipped or unusually large
Check whether the page scrolls horizontally and whether full_width is needed. Also check the selected format’s documented dimension ceiling; the Urlbox screenshot guide recommends PNG where full-page image limits matter.
