Start with the Resonator you want to play, then build around what their kit needs—not a fixed team template. Identify how they deal damage and use their Resonance Circuit, then choose teammates whose effects support that playstyle, fit your switch timing, and keep you alive in the content you want to tackle.
How do I build a team around my favorite character?
- Read your Resonator’s kit. Identify their main source of damage, how their Resonance Circuit works, what charges it, and what it consumes. Kuro Games describes each Resonator’s Circuit as unique, with mechanics that help define their combat style. Combat Role labels such as Main Damage Dealer and Concerto Efficiency can point you toward a role, but the abilities themselves determine what the character needs. Kuro Games’ combat-system notes and Version 2.1 patch notes provide official context.
- Identify the missing team jobs. Look for effects that amplify the favored character’s damage type or support their attack pattern. Consider whether they benefit from coordinated attacks or buffs while on field, how quickly the team can build Concerto Energy for its intended switch pattern, and whether healing or defensive utility is needed for your target content. These are evaluation questions, not mandatory slots in a universal three-character formula.
- Check the handoff. Concerto Energy builds through combat actions. Switching when it is full triggers the outgoing Resonator’s Concerto Effect and the incoming Resonator’s Concerto Skill. Check what those effects do, whether they benefit your main’s damage or attacks, and whether their timing covers the main’s active window. - Make a repeatable rotation. Learn the main’s Circuit cycle, use the Skill, Liberation, or attacks needed to charge and spend its resource, prepare the team’s support effects, then hand off when Concerto is ready. The exact button order depends on the character: the Circuit and Concerto Skills are character-specific.
- Check the in-game Guide Depot. Kuro Games says the Guide Depot offers Resonator recommendations for Echoes, upgrade priority, Resonance Chain, weapons, and teammates. Where multiple guides are available, compare their suggestions with the actual teammate effects and the characters you own; Kuro also notes that guide refreshes may be delayed. How should I compare possible teammates?
When you have several candidates, compare how each one fits the favored Resonator and your account rather than relying on a generic ranking.
- Effect match: Does the teammate’s buff, debuff, or utility benefit the main’s damage type or attack pattern?
- Field time: How much setup does the teammate need, and can it fit without disrupting the main’s rotation?
- Switch value: How does the teammate build Concerto Energy, and what do their outgoing or incoming switch effects contribute?
- Survivability: Does the content call for healing or defensive utility?
- Account fit: Do you own the character, and is your available investment enough to use their contribution?
These are practical comparison criteria drawn from the official combat mechanics and Guide Depot features, not a published scoring system.
What does a matching team look like in practice?
Kuro Games’ Jiyan–Mortefi example illustrates how to match teammate effects to a main’s playstyle. The Aero/Fusion pairing activates a team effect, while Mortefi’s Liberation supplies Fusion attacks in response to the team’s Normal or Heavy Attacks. The useful lesson is to look for effects that align with the main’s damage and attack pattern—not to treat this pair as a universal recommendation. Kuro Games’ combat-system notes give the example.

How current are official team recommendations?
Character rosters and advice can change between versions. At the research timestamp of September 30, 2026, Kuro Games’ official news index listed Version 3.7 patch notes. The Guide Depot’s recommendations are useful in-game, but Kuro’s Version 2.4 notes warn that refreshes may be delayed, so check the suggested character’s current abilities and how they fit your own roster.
