Build a coherent Super Auto Pets team by choosing a few compatible ability triggers, positioning pets so they act at the right time, and using shop turns to buy the pieces that support the plan. You have five slots, and the available pets and food depend on your selected pack, so there is no single lineup that fits every run.
Start with the team and turn structure
Each round has a shop phase followed by an automatic battle. During the shop phase, you can spend gold on pets and food, rearrange your roster, merge pets for experience, or sell pets. A team can hold up to five pets. Your pets attack from right to left, making their order part of your plan rather than a cosmetic choice. Pet tiers enter the shop over time: the reference says Tier 1 is available on turn 1 and Tier 6 on turn 11, with new tiers opening every other turn. Build a useful early team from what is available, then reconsider its roles as higher-tier pets become options. A starting lineup is a foundation, not a promise that every pet should stay until the end.
Choose an interaction, not just strong-looking pets
Read each ability for three things: its trigger, its target, and its effect. Then look for pets that enable the trigger, improve its result, or benefit from what it creates. For example, a developer discussion gives a summon-focused pairing: a pet that summons can work with one that strengthens summoned pets. That is a pattern to consider, not a guaranteed winning formula; the developer describes balancing as flexible rather than rigid.

Use the five slots as a limited budget. One or two pets can form the core interaction, while the others add durability, stats, or another useful trigger. Avoid making every slot depend on one narrow condition unless the team can reliably create it; this is a practical inference from the roster limit and trigger-based abilities, not a tested win-rate claim.
Place pets according to when their abilities matter
Because your pets attack from right to left, the rightmost pet attacks first. Positioning also determines which pets are exposed as the front line changes during battle. Think through the ability sequence: does a pet need to act before a friend, benefit from a friend fainting, or support a summoned pet? Those needs can call for different slots.

Do not assume one fixed order works for every synergy. Check the exact ability text for the pet and pack you are using, then arrange the roster so the relevant trigger and target can line up. A straightforward attacker may have different placement needs from a pet whose value depends on another pet acting or fainting first.
Spend shop gold to strengthen the plan
Shop choices should be judged by how they advance the team you are building. A food purchase may give an immediate stat increase or a perk; buying a pet may complete or improve the core interaction. Compare those benefits in the context of the team’s current gaps rather than treating any one purchase type as always superior. This is strategic guidance based on the shop and food mechanics, not an empirically proven optimal buying rule.

Merging, selling, and rearranging can also help adapt the roster as the shop changes. Since higher tiers unlock over turns, revisit the plan as new options become available: keep pieces that still serve a role, and consider a pivot when a new pet offers a more useful interaction.
Let the selected pack shape the synergy
Pets, food, and perks vary by pack, so first check which pool you are playing. The game’s reference distinguishes static packs, custom packs, and a Weekly Pack that changes weekly and uses a synergy-minded randomizer. The weekly lineup is volatile; verify the current pack contents rather than relying on an older example.

Food can raise stats or grant a perk, and pets or toys may also create perks. The Cat entry describes a Turtle Pack example in which food stat effects can be multiplied. Treat that as pack-specific: check the pet’s current ability text and do not assume the same food interaction applies in every mode.

- Trigger dependency: How many pets must survive, or how often must a particular ability activate?
- Positioning: Does the interaction require a specific order or a pet to occupy a particular part of the formation?
- Shop investment: Which pets, merges, or food purchases are needed, and when can the relevant tiers appear?
- Pack availability: Are all the pieces present in the static, custom, or weekly pool you selected?
- Flexibility: Can a slot change roles without breaking the central interaction?
These are decision criteria derived from the game’s team, shop, and pack mechanics—not head-to-head performance results. The available sources do not establish a current strongest lineup or comparative win rates.
Keep ability and pack information current
Pet and mechanics details are community-maintained and may change with game updates. The Weekly Pack changes each week, so exact pool contents and current competitive recommendations can become outdated. Use the in-game ability text and current pack list when making a run-specific decision rather than treating an older build description as permanent.
