A balanced Genshin Impact team is not a fixed mix of one damage dealer, one support, one healer, and one shielder: characters can cover several jobs, and the right combination depends on your roster, the encounter, and how comfortably you can execute the team.
1. Choose the character your team will support
Begin with the character you most want to use, whether that is your strongest built character or simply your favorite. Work out how that character contributes:
- On-field damage dealer: Wants time on the field to use attacks or abilities. Teammates should contribute damage, application, or support without constantly competing for that time.
- Off-field damage dealer: Can contribute damage while another character is active. Pair them with an on-field character who can make use of their effects.
- Support: Helps the team through effects such as elemental application, buffs, enemy debuffs, grouping, healing, or shielding. Decide which damage dealer or reaction they will enable.
Rarity alone does not determine a character’s place in the lineup. A useful team starts from what the chosen character needs, not from a rule that the rarest character must lead.
2. Pick a damage plan the roster can actually sustain
Choose a reaction or another coherent synergy that your available characters can support. HoYoverse’s official game overview describes manipulating elements as key to defeating powerful enemies. In practice, that means checking whether the team can apply the elements its plan depends on consistently, rather than selecting a reaction by name and hoping it happens often enough.
#1 Best Overall
- Genshin Impact "Ode to a Sweet Afternoon" Furina Chibi Figure
Physical damage is one example of a plan with a specific requirement: the current team guide notes that a physical carry needs recurring Electro or Cryo application for Superconduct. Other reaction-focused teams likewise need the relevant elemental application and roles to function. If your roster cannot supply those pieces reliably, choose a different plan or anchor the team around a character you can support more consistently.
3. Fill the remaining slots by function
Once the anchor and damage plan are clear, use the other slots to make the plan reliable and comfortable. Potential jobs include:
Rank #2
- G-I merchandise: Game Furina characters. High quality game character sculptures for fans. Definitely a great gift for fans, desktop decorations
- High quality: all the characters are carefully crafted, bright colors will not fade
- Material: PVC environmentally friendly materials, will not release a pungent smell. And the product is flexible and not easily damaged

- Off-field damage or elemental application that continues while the on-field character acts.
- Buffs for your team or debuffs that weaken enemies.
- Grouping, when it helps against the encounter’s enemies.
- Healing or shielding when survival and interruption resistance matter.
These are jobs, not mandatory character categories. One teammate may provide application and damage; another may add protection and support. A balanced lineup is one whose members work together toward its plan, not one that mechanically assigns each slot a different label.
4. Check whether the team works in real play
A lineup can look strong on paper and still feel poor if its abilities do not align or its rotation is difficult for you to perform. Before committing resources, consider whether you can use the intended sequence comfortably and whether the characters’ contributions are available when the plan needs them. The current GameWith guide notes that some damage depends on character knowledge and player skill, so execution difficulty belongs alongside damage when comparing teams.

Comfort is also part of team balance. A team with enough healing or shielding may suit exploration or progression better than a more demanding lineup, while grouping can be valuable in encounters where it helps control enemies. Adjust for the content rather than treating one composition as ideal everywhere.
5. Compare current examples without treating them as permanent rankings
GameWith’s team guide is labeled Version 7.1 and was last updated October 6, 2026. It highlights Stellar-Conduct and Stellar-Swirl teams and also lists Lunar reaction teams. Its examples show different ways to combine damage contributors and support roles:
Rank #4
- Merchandise: Game Sangonomiya Kokomi characters. High quality game character sculptures for fans. Definitely a great gift for fans, desktop decorations
- High quality: all the characters are carefully crafted, bright colors will not fade
- Material: PVC environmentally friendly materials, will not release a pungent smell. And the product is flexible and not easily damaged
- Dimension:1/7 scale figure, The height is 25CM, restoring Kokomi's beautiful figure

| Example in the guide | What the example illustrates | What to check for your account |
|---|---|---|
| Stellar-Conduct | Two damage contributors alongside support slots, with alternatives for one slot. | Whether your anchor benefits from the damage contributions and whether your available supports make the plan reliable. |
| Lunar-Crystallize | A lineup combining damage, support, shielding, and another support role. | Whether the roles suit your preferred comfort level and work together around your chosen character. |
| Superconduct physical team | A physical carry supported by recurring Electro or Cryo application. | Whether you can maintain the application needed for the physical damage plan. |
These are examples from a dated guide, not permanent tier placements or a guarantee that one team is best for every account. Compare lineups by fit with your anchor, role coverage, reaction consistency, survivability, execution demands, and the encounter you want to tackle.

A precise recommendation depends on the characters available to you and what you want the team to accomplish. Community team-building threads commonly frame requests around a roster or a returning player’s uncertainty, but those posts are examples of player questions, not evidence that any particular character performs well.

Before choosing a lineup, answer these questions:
- Which characters do you own, and which do you most want to use?
- Who is the anchor, and are you open to changing that character’s role or play style?
- Is the goal comfortable exploration, story or boss progression, or an endgame challenge?
- Which healing, shielding, grouping, and off-field options are available?
- Can the proposed team enable its damage plan reliably, and does its rotation feel comfortable to you?
Build from those owned options first. A general guide cannot determine the best four characters for an account without knowing its roster and goal.
7. Organize characters with the in-game filters
HoYoverse’s Version 5.2 update details state that the Party Setup screen gained role and elemental-type filter tags. Use those categories to sort your available characters while looking for a role or elemental application your team still needs. The filters help organize a roster; they do not identify the strongest lineup by themselves.
