To stop someone from sending tips through Streamlabs, open Dashboard > Tipping > Tipping History, find their tip, select the ellipsis at the end of its row, and choose Ban. Streamlabs says this blocks that person from sending tips and messages through its tipping system. It does not ban them from Twitch, YouTube, or another platform’s chat.
Ban a tipper from Streamlabs
- Sign in to the Streamlabs Dashboard.
- Select Tipping in the left navigation, then open Tipping History.
- Find the tip associated with the person you want to block. Check the username and the tip details first; Streamlabs cautions creators to make sure they have identified the person correctly.
- At the end of the tip’s row, select the ellipsis menu and choose Ban.
- If the person is also harassing people in your stream chat, separately use the moderation controls on that streaming platform.
What the ban blocks—and what it does not
Streamlabs’ ban instructions say the tipper will be “banned from sending tips and messages.” The restriction is described as applying by IP address and username within Streamlabs tipping. It is not a platform-wide account or chat ban: banning someone from Streamlabs tipping does not, by itself, remove or block their messages on Twitch, YouTube, or another connected platform.
Streamlabs mentions profanity filtering as a separate tip-page setting. That may help filter certain language, but it is not a substitute for banning a specific tipper.
Use the donation-report route for chargeback issues
Streamlabs also documents a Dashboard > My Donations route for reporting and blocking a donor in its chargeback guidance. That article says that reporting the donor IP-bans them from making donations to you. It addresses chargeback and donation-report issues; for a malicious tipper sending harassing messages, the dedicated Tipping > Tipping History > Ban workflow is the more directly applicable option.

If the dashboard option or ban does not resolve the problem
- You cannot find the tip: Confirm you are in Tipping History and have identified the correct tip and username before taking action.
- The person is still posting in chat: Apply a separate timeout or ban through the relevant platform’s chat moderation tools.
- You banned the wrong person or need to appeal: Streamlabs’ published ban instructions do not explain how to reverse a ban or appeal one. Contact Streamlabs support rather than assuming a particular reversal process.
- The person appears able to donate again: The published instructions do not specify how changed IP addresses, shared networks, or multiple accounts affect enforcement. Contact Streamlabs support for help with the specific case.
Streamlabs’ help articles are dated April 25, 2025, for the dedicated ban workflow, and May 20, 2026, for its quick tipping guide. Dashboard labels can change, so consult the current Streamlabs Dashboard or Help Center if the navigation differs.
