To allow pop-ups for one trusted website in Microsoft Edge on Windows 11, open Settings and more > Settings > Privacy, search, and services > Site permissions > All permissions > Pop-ups and redirects. Under Allowed to send pop-ups and use redirects, select Add site, enter the site’s URL beginning with https://, and select Add.
Edge’s pop-up blocker is on by default. Allowing only the site that needs a pop-up is more limited than changing the setting for all websites.
Allow pop-ups for a specific website in Edge
Use this option when a trusted website needs a pop-up for a task such as sign-in, printing, or payment processing.
- Open Microsoft Edge.
- Select the Settings and more button—the three dots near the upper-right corner.
- Select Settings.
- Open Privacy, search, and services.
- Select Site permissions, then All permissions.
- Select Pop-ups and redirects.
- Under Allowed to send pop-ups and use redirects, select Add site.
- Enter the website URL, including the https:// prefix.
- Select Add and check that the site appears in the allow list.
Return to the affected page and try the action that needs the pop-up.

Allow pop-ups for all websites
Changing the browser-wide setting affects all websites, rather than just one trusted site. For a single site, use the allow-list method above. To change the broad setting, return to Pop-ups and redirects and change the blocker setting there. Restore the recommended blocking behavior when you no longer need the broader allowance.

What to do if unexpected pop-ups continue
First check whether what you see is an in-page advertisement or a website notification rather than a blocked pop-up. If unexpected pop-ups continue, Microsoft suggests updating Edge, scanning the device for malware, testing whether an extension is responsible by disabling extensions, blocking third-party cookies, and clearing the browser cache.
- Update Edge from Settings and more > Settings > About Microsoft Edge.
- Temporarily disable extensions to check whether one is interfering, then re-enable them as needed.
- Try blocking third-party cookies as a troubleshooting step; this may affect site features.
- Clear the browser cache and reload the website.
- Scan the device with Windows Security if unwanted pop-ups persist.

How do I allow pop-ups for one website in Edge?
Use the Add site control under Allowed to send pop-ups and use redirects in Edge’s Pop-ups and redirects settings, then enter the intended site’s URL.
Why does Edge still show pop-up-like content?
The content may be an advertisement built into the webpage, which the pop-up blocker does not remove, or a website notification controlled by a separate permission. A pop-up opened after you select a page link or button is not blocked by Edge.

Do website notifications use the pop-up setting?
No. Website notifications have a separate Notifications permission. They can appear in the Windows notification area and notification center even when Edge is closed.
