Tracfone now generally calls adding service refilling your plan, rather than adding minutes. The current website may offer service plans with talk, text, data, or unlimited talk and text, so you may not see a universal “minutes card” option.
You can refill online with your Tracfone phone number, device IMEI, or an AirTime Service Plan PIN. The quickest route is Tracfone.com → Current Customers → Refill.
How to add minutes or service to Tracfone online
- Open Tracfone’s Refill Your Plan page.
- Find the field labeled “Enter your phone number or IMEI*”.
- Enter the Tracfone phone number or device IMEI, then select “Enter Number.” Some versions of the page describe this identifier as the phone number or serial number.
- Review the available Service Plans and choose the plan that fits your talk, text, data, and expiration needs.
- Choose a payment method. The current flow shows “Use Points” and “Use Card.” The card option is labeled “Pay with Credit Card or Paypal.”
- Enter any requested payment and billing details. You can use only one promo code per transaction. Finish checkout.
- Keep the confirmation email or order number until the new balance and expiration date appear on your account.
If the button remains disabled, check the identifier carefully. Tracfone displays “Enter Number Disabled. please enter valid phone number or IMEI to enable” until it recognizes a valid phone number or IMEI.
What plan should you buy?
The right choice depends on what you mean by “minutes.” Tracfone’s current plans are organized as Service Plans, not one universal minutes-only refill. Available plans can include talk, text, and data allowances, while some are advertised with Unlimited Talk and Unlimited Text.

Before paying, check the plan’s details rather than relying on the phrase “add minutes.” The site currently displays plans such as “1 line for 30 Days,” along with their talk, text, and data benefits.
How to refill with an AirTime card PIN
If you bought a Tracfone AirTime Card, you can use its Plan PIN, also called an AirTime Service plan PIN. The PIN is printed on the back of the card and on the receipt.
- Go to Tracfone.com → Current Customers → Refill.
- Open the AirTime-card or PIN entry area if it is not already displayed.
- Enter the target phone number or serial number.
- Enter the card’s Plan PIN.
- Enter a promo code if applicable, then select “ENTER REQUIRED INFO.” Only one promo code is allowed per transaction.
- Complete any remaining confirmation steps.
Do not confuse the Plan PIN with your account password or the phone’s IMEI. If you have a receipt, use the PIN shown there; if you have a physical card, carefully scratch off and read the number on its back.
How to refill from a logged-in account
After signing in, the account menu includes Account Dashboard, Account & Payment, Transactions, Manage Lines, and Manage Auto Refill, among other options. The refill page also shows “To see your devices, Log In.”

A logged-in refill is useful when you manage more than one line because it reduces the chance of entering the wrong phone number. However, confirm the last four digits or other line details before checkout.
Can you add only minutes or texts as an add-on?
Tracfone’s current add-on page is specifically rendered as “Text Add-on” and shows an option such as “1000 Texts.” To reach it, open the Add-Ons page and use the section labeled “Make a selection to add to cart.”
- Choose “Refilling my plan.”
- Enter the requested phone number or serial number.
- Review the add-on shown for that line.
- Add it to the cart and complete checkout.
The page also offers “A new customer” and “Adding an additional line” as choices. The current page does not establish that a minutes-only add-on is available, so use the displayed product details instead of assuming an old minutes-card category still exists.
What happens to an existing balance?
When you add an Unlimited Talk & Text plan, Tracfone says your existing minutes, texts, and data are retained. The current expiration date is extended by 30 additional days. After the Unlimited plan expires, the previous balance is used.

For non-Unlimited plans, unused minutes, texts, and data do not expire as long as the Tracfone service remains active and is used at least once during a six-month period. For qualifying Unlimited Talk & Text smartphone plans, unused data can carry over while active service is maintained.
Add-on cards have a similar eligibility condition: Tracfone says the service must be active and in use within any six-month period.
Why the online refill may not work

Using points instead of a card
If your account has enough Reward Points for an eligible plan, select “Use Points” during the refill process. Points cannot be used partially unless the checkout specifically allows it; Tracfone states that you must accumulate the total points required for the eligible plan.
If the points option is unavailable, select “Use Card” and pay with a credit card or PayPal, or use the AirTime Plan PIN route if you already purchased a card.

Is there a code or command to add Tracfone minutes?
No command or terminal syntax is required for an online refill. The current process is a website checkout. Tracfone also provides the 611611 text-based self-service feature, which it says can be used to check your balance, refill, or manage plans and phones.
How to avoid refilling the wrong line
- Use the account dashboard when possible, especially if you manage multiple lines.
