Start by choosing whether viewers will earn your platform’s built-in points or a separate chatbot currency: they are different systems and do not transfer between each other. For Twitch, eligible monetized streamers can configure native Channel Points and custom rewards. For chatbot loyalty, StreamElements provides point settings, games, and a documented Twitch giveaway workflow; Streamlabs Cloudbot is another option to investigate. Polls need separate verification for the platform and tool you use, because a points-staking contest is not an ordinary poll.
Choose the right points system
Twitch Channel Points: native rewards
Twitch Channel Points are available to monetized streamers. Viewers collect points for a specific channel while logged in and watching, and the streamer can configure built-in or custom rewards. Twitch describes Channel Points as a customizable program for rewarding community members with perks. See Twitch’s Channel Points guide for current eligibility and setup details.
Choose this option when you want viewers to redeem channel-specific rewards without introducing a separate chatbot balance. The points belong to that channel; they are not the same as points from a bot’s loyalty system.
StreamElements Loyalty: a separate chatbot currency
StreamElements has a separate loyalty system that can award points for activities such as watching, subscribing, and tipping. To enable it, log in to StreamElements, open Loyalty settings, and enable Loyalty. Then configure earning rates and rewards to suit your community. This is a better fit if you want chatbot games, commands or a point-priced reward store alongside stream rewards. Check the current dashboard for the available settings rather than assuming that a bot balance and a platform balance are interchangeable.
Streamlabs Cloudbot: an alternative to check
Streamlabs’ Cloudbot guide covers linking Twitch, YouTube or Kick and setting up loyalty or chat games. That overview does not establish that every Cloudbot feature is available on every linked platform, so verify the specific module and platform in the current dashboard before building your setup around it. Set up loyalty and games without overwhelming chat
In StreamElements, enable only the optional modules your audience will use. Its documented examples include emote bingo, duels, 8ball, emote combos, roulette, slot machine, viewer queues and vote kick. Availability varies by platform; check each module’s current documentation and settings before enabling it. Some games use loyalty points as stakes, but the cited module description characterizes those points as non-monetary—not real-money wagering.
- Set an understandable earning pace. Choose rates that make rewards attainable without making the balance meaningless. StreamElements lets creators configure earning rates; the appropriate pace depends on how often your audience watches and what rewards you offer.
- Make the balance easy to check. Tell viewers how to find their balance using the current bot commands or dashboard features available to your setup.
- Price rewards realistically. Set costs against the time viewers are likely to need to earn them. Explain what each redemption gets, any limits, and how moderators should handle requests.
- Start with a small set of games. Pick a few that fit your chat and establish clear rules for games that use points as stakes. Add modules only when you can moderate them.
- Put redemption and moderation rules where viewers can find them. State what happens if a reward cannot be fulfilled, how queues work, and which behaviors moderators may restrict.
Run a StreamElements points giveaway on Twitch
StreamElements documents a loyalty-points giveaway flow for Twitch. It is separate from a Twitch Channel Points reward redemption: viewers use StreamElements loyalty points or the public giveaway page to enter.

- In the StreamElements dashboard, open Loyalty → Giveaways.
- Enter the giveaway title and description, identify the prize, and set ticket prices and limits.
- Start the giveaway. The bot announces it in chat.
- Let viewers enter with
!ticketor!enter, or through the public giveaway page. Each ticket has an equal chance of being drawn. - Close ticket sales, then use the dashboard to draw one or more winners.
Set out eligibility, entry limits, start and end times, and prize fulfillment terms before opening entries. A physical prize is optional; choose and describe any prize clearly. Handle polls separately from point-staking contests
Do not label a prediction contest a poll. StreamElements documents contests in which viewers stake points on two or more options, the streamer selects the winning outcome, and losing bets fund winners. That mechanic involves points at risk; an ordinary poll collects votes without requiring viewers to stake a balance.
For a non-wagering poll, verify the current native poll feature on your streaming platform or the poll module supported by your chosen chatbot. The available setup information does not establish a current, reliable button-by-button workflow for polls, so do not assume a particular menu path or treat a contest as a substitute.

Before choosing, decide whether you need native custom rewards, a chatbot store or games, point-based giveaway entries, or a non-wagering vote. Also account for moderation and prize fulfillment: the more interactions you add, the more clearly you need to explain rules and responsibilities.
