To open a TP-Link router’s settings, connect your phone, tablet, or computer to the router over Wi-Fi or Ethernet, then type tplinkwifi.net directly into a browser’s address bar. Sign in with that router’s administrator credentials; if the name does not resolve, try 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1.
The management page is local, so the router does not need Internet access. Your device does need to be connected to the router itself, and login screens and credentials vary by model and setup history.
Open TP-Link router settings at tplinkwifi.net
- Connect your device to the TP-Link router using Wi-Fi or an Ethernet cable. If Wi-Fi access is not working, try a direct Ethernet connection to a LAN port.
- Open a web browser.
- Type tplinkwifi.net directly into the address bar, not a search engine’s search field.
- Press Enter.
- Sign in with the router’s administrator credentials.
You can usually open the management page even when the router has no working Internet service. The device only needs a connection to the router itself.
What you see at the first login
Login screens vary by model, firmware, and setup history. Newer routers may ask you to create an administrator password the first time you open the management page. Some older models may show separate username and password fields, and some may use admin for both by default. Do not assume those credentials apply to your router; use the instructions for its exact model.

Try the router’s IP address
If tplinkwifi.net does not load, type either of these addresses directly into the browser’s address bar:

Fix “tplinkwifi.net cannot be reached”
Work through these checks in order:
- Confirm the connection. Make sure the device is connected to the TP-Link router, not a guest network or another router.
- Enter the address directly. Type tplinkwifi.net into the browser’s address bar, then try 192.168.0.1 and 192.168.1.1.
- Try another browser. You can also clear the browser’s cached data and retry.
- Check for connection blockers. Temporarily check whether a VPN, proxy, firewall, antivirus software, or multiple active network connections are interfering. Restore your usual protection and settings after troubleshooting.
- Try Ethernet. Connect a computer to a LAN port on the router and retry the address.
- Check model-specific instructions. For ISP-customized or older models, consult the label and the model’s support page or manual for its login address and steps.
For supported devices, the TP-Link Tether app may also provide a way to manage the router. App availability and setup vary by model.
TP-Link administrator password and Wi-Fi password
The administrator password opens the router’s settings. The Wi-Fi password connects devices to the wireless network. They are separate credentials; changing one does not automatically change the other.
Recover or reset a forgotten password
Password recovery options depend on the router model and whether a recovery method was configured beforehand. If your login page offers a recovery option, follow its instructions. Check the model’s manual or support page for available recovery methods.

If recovery is unavailable, a factory reset may be necessary as a last resort. A reset restores factory settings and erases custom configuration, so you will need to set up the router again. Follow the reset instructions in the manual for your exact model.
Security after logging in
- Use a strong, unique administrator password.
- Keep the administrator password separate from the Wi-Fi password.
- Follow the model’s support guidance for firmware and other security settings.
