Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →To access cPanel, open the secure login address provided by your hosting company—typically your domain or server IP followed by port 2083—then sign in with your cPanel username and password. If two-factor authentication (2FA) is enabled, you’ll also need the current six-digit code from the authenticator app linked to your account. Your host determines the exact login and recovery process.
What you need before logging in
- An active cPanel hosting account. As cPanel puts it, “To access cPanel, you must first have or create a cPanel account.”
- The login address, username, and password supplied or managed by your hosting provider.
- If 2FA is enabled, access to the smartphone authenticator app configured for the account.
Your host may provide a direct cPanel address, a customer-portal link, or another sign-in flow. Check its welcome email, hosting dashboard, or support documentation for the correct route. cPanel’s official login guide covers the standard address formats.
How to log in to cPanel
- Open the address provided by your host. The usual secure format is
https://example.com:2083for a domain orhttps://198.51.100.1:2083for a server IP. These are examples; use the domain or IP configured for your account. - Enter your cPanel username and password. These are account credentials, not necessarily the same as your hosting dashboard credentials.
- Complete the 2FA prompt if it appears. Enter the current six-digit code from your account’s configured authenticator app.
- Use the tools available in your account. The cPanel home screen presents the features your host has enabled for you.
Both domain and IP access use HTTPS and port 2083 in cPanel’s documented examples. Neither route is universally faster or more reliable; choose the address your provider says is configured for your account.
What you can manage in cPanel

Not every account displays the same tools. Providers can hide or disable features, so an absent tool does not necessarily mean you are using the wrong login or that the feature is available on your plan. See cPanel’s Getting Started in cPanel overview, and ask your provider or account administrator about account-specific access.
cPanel and WHM are different
Use cPanel for administration of your own hosting account and its website-related services. WHM is a separate, higher-level interface for server and account administration. cPanel’s documentation identifies root or reseller privileges as prerequisites for WHM access; ordinary cPanel credentials do not automatically grant it. See the documentation on WHM account roles.

Keep your cPanel sign-in secure
Use the HTTPS address on port 2083 when entering credentials. cPanel warns that authentication through ports 2082, 2086, or 2095 sends credentials in plain text. Avoid signing in through those non-SSL routes. Its Basic Security Concepts page explains this guidance.
When enabled, 2FA adds a six-digit authenticator code to the account password. The hosting provider must enable the server-side feature for cPanel users. cPanel also treats API requests separately, so enabling login 2FA should not be taken to mean that every API integration is protected by it. See Two-Factor Authentication for cPanel.

Fix common cPanel login problems
You do not know the login address
Check the host’s welcome email and customer portal, or ask its support team for the account-specific cPanel URL. The standard domain and IP examples do not guarantee that either address is configured for your account.
Your password does not work or you forgot it
Use your provider’s password-reset process or contact support. The reset route is host-specific; cPanel does not guarantee that every user can reset credentials from the login page.

Ask your provider whether it has enabled 2FA for cPanel users. The option depends on server-side configuration.
