It mixes music trivia, album-cover reveals, and song identification from audio previews. Find it in the Now Playing view while listening to an artist with a quiz; after you finish, Spotify shows a score that you can share.
How to find and play Spotify Music Quiz
- Update the Spotify app.
- Play a track by an artist with a quiz.
- Open Now Playing and scroll down to look for the Music Quiz card.
- Tap the card and answer questions about the artist and their music.
- Finish the quiz to reveal your score. Share the result or challenge friends if those options are available for that quiz.
Spotify says the quiz card may not appear for every artist or listener immediately because the rollout is gradual.
What songs and questions are included?
The quiz focuses on a selected participating artist, not on an arbitrary test of your listening history. Spotify describes three question formats:
- Music trivia about the artist.
- Album-cover art reveals.
- Identifying a song from an audio preview.
Questions can draw on the artist’s catalog, career milestones, and defining moments. The specific songs and questions therefore depend on which artist’s quiz you open.

How does Spotify Music Quiz scoring work?
Spotify confirms that a score appears when you complete the quiz, but its official announcements reviewed here do not explain the calculation. They do not specify point values, time bonuses, streaks, penalties, or a ranking formula. You can see your result at the end, but there is no published formula in those announcements to use to predict or compare scores.
Can you share your score or challenge friends?
Spotify says players can share quiz results and challenge friends. The exact options may vary by quiz. For the BTS Music Quiz, Spotify documented a specific flow: tap Share after finishing to post a score on social media, or tap Challenge a friend. After the friend completes that quiz, both players receive a scorecard through Spotify’s Your Updates, which can also be shared on social media. Spotify documented that scorecard flow for the BTS quiz; it should not be assumed to work identically for every artist quiz.

Who can access Music Quiz?
In its October 6, 2026 rollout announcement, Spotify said the broader feature was beginning to roll out to Premium listeners aged 18 and older in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, India, Nigeria, South Africa, and Indonesia. Spotify reported quizzes for more than 2,000 artists, but noted that the rollout was gradual and that the feature might not appear for every artist or listener immediately. Availability for a specific quiz can differ from the broader rollout. Spotify announced the BTS quiz in March 2026 as available to Premium listeners globally in English, Indonesian, Korean, Japanese, Portuguese, and Spanish. That announcement describes the BTS quiz at that time; it does not establish current availability of every Music Quiz in every market. Details are in Spotify’s BTS Music Quiz announcement.

If the Music Quiz card does not appear
- Check that Spotify is updated and that you are looking in Now Playing while listening to an artist with a quiz.
- Confirm that your account and location meet the applicable Premium, age, and country requirements Spotify announced for the rollout.
- Remember that artist coverage and account access are rolling out gradually. The missing card alone does not show that you have done something wrong.
